1998 Vikings gets my vote!
How are these the best Vikings teams of all time? Hell ... one of them went 8-8 (2004)! I am trying to figure out seriously why you would think this are the best Vikings teams of all time when we have FOUR Super Bowl teams ... and FIVE NFC Championship Game losses ... that is NINE teams right there better than the 8-8 2004 team that only made it to the Divisional round.
Out of these four completely randomly selected teams though ... I would have to say it is CLEARLY the 1998 Vikings. Though the 74 Vikings actually got to the big dance and lost to one of the best teams of all time (the Steelers) the 98 Vikings had more firepower and a solid defense. In the end, they would probably be too much for the 74 Vikes to keep up with.
The 2004 vikings would CRUSH some of those superbowl/NFC championship game teams.Quote:

The 2004 Vikings were just poorly coached and executed, and they still were a great team. The Defense was weak, but that Offense was expectional. I'd love to see 1998 vikes vs 2004 vikes
Might be controversial, but, I actually think the 1975 team that lost to the fucking Cowboys when Drew Pearson interfered on the Hail Mary Pass was better than the 1974 team... That's what made it soooooooooooo painful, to this day! My vote goes: 1-1998, 2-1975, 3-1974, 4-1976... The Brett Favre led team of 2009...well, more pain, but, pretty sure that story has been recently told.
Vikes would have beaten the Broncos (after 98) should have beaten the Chiefs, and would have beaten the Steelers in Super Bowl X (the rematch).
I digress, such is it, you Vikings fans can relate!
In 1987/1988, Darin Nelson holds on to the pass at the goal line against the skins, the Vikes would have easily beat the Broncos in the SB.
The 1998 team was the best team ever. But the 87/88 team may have had the best chance to win it all.
Yeah. It is sad being a Vikes fan no doubt. The 1969 team probably had the best chance of winning it all and completely blew it against the Chiefs.
I also liked the 2009 and 1987 teams' chances should they have gotten to the big show. The 1975 and 1998 teams would have still had a tough time in the Super Bowl though.
And I still think listing an 8-8 team on this list is laughable.
If you take the question as it is stated, I would pick the 2009 Vikings. Simply because the athletes and the game evolves. I don't think it's a fair contest.Quote:
