He doesn't have the injury concerns Allen has plus he's in my opinion the most NFL ready receiver in this draft. Runs good routes, good hands and is faster than people think. Also he's not so lanky and skinny like Justin Hunter is so he'll be able to take a few licks from defensive backs/linebackers better than Hunter can. See him compare to Reggie Wayne.

Ryan Swope from Texas A&M is another guy I'd like to take at about say Round 4. Ran one of the fastest 40's at the draft and could be another Jordy Nelson type player.

Deandre Hopkins, Greg Jennings, Jarius Wright, Ryan Swope, Kyle Rudolph. Definitely would make our passing attack much more credible.
I was just watching Hopkins highlights a second ago, and loved all the tough, in traffic, fought for catches showed in the link from drafttek's latest mock:

NFL Draft Mock 2013 | NFL Draft Mock Draft

A draft like this looks pretty freaking good for Vikings!

    1. Manti Te'o: Jokes aside, he did Lead one of the nations best college defenses to a title appearance, and we have nothing at MLB ATM. Note in the comments: "Spielman had dinner with Manti the night before his proday!?" Anybody else feel this is a done deal? I fucking hope he doesn't blow both our 1sts to move up on him!! Cuz, we need this too...
    1. De Hopkins: One of the top WRs in the draft who is healthy and has the concentration to make the tough, contested catches and the quick twitch step to suddenly be open when he seems covered.
    2. Kawaan Short: We're returning all of our starters at DT, so this guy is rotational and has a bit of time to develop, and the best 4 or 5 look to be gone before our first pick, so I'm guessing, that this is the position we should let talent slide at and aim for in the 2nd.
    3. Blidi Wreh-Wilson: Finally, a CB! But, with our zone scheme, and 2 DB specialists coaching, hopefully he can fill Winny's shoes someday...
    4. Zavier Gooden: The fastest backer at the combine in the 4th. At least ST depth and likely, at least, eventually, serious competition for Henderson.
    4. Tyrann Mathieu: NICE! Replace PH's return ability and add CB depth!! Awesome for our late 4th!!

Filling all our major holes with potential starters all the way through the 4th round!? Almost looks too good to be true, but this is a deep draft, and we have an extra 1st and an extra, early 4th too...maybe, hopefully, this draft will be something we look back upon as the turning point toward championships!!

    BAAAAWHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

PS I'm also a big fan of Swope! Great speed and 3-cone, great consistent production, good hands and extremely versatile, both downfield and near the LOS...but highly unlikely to get past Miami who pick twice in the 2nd and 3rd rounds before we do, given his familiarity with both the QB and head coach! Fat chance he's there at our 3rd, much less 4th.
Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

2013 NFL draft -- Keenan Allen of California Golden Bears flagged for drug test, sources say - ESPN

Looks like Keenan Allen was red flagged at the combine. Could be good news for us, keep him on the board longer...

I think Speilman fucked up by showing his hand. He brought in no-one at MLB so now teams know we will be going MLB at 1 or 1b. Teams can now plan their draft strat based on this.

It isn't like it was some big secret that we needed a MLB... or a CB... or a WR...

Uh-oh! he drinks too much water. I'd be damned to have a water-junkie on our team.

If we spend our first round pick on Teo I will put an ice pick through my head. Why would you pick a MLB that ran a 4.71 and 4.74 that is tight in the hips and is basically goingto be a 2 down backer. If we wanted that why not just resign Brinkley?

I would take Hopkins, I like his style of play, I would take Hunter or even Woods, they all appear to be very good Wrs in their own way. I would take Ogletree, though if he were available and get a WR in the second round.

Short to me is a great player, I would be very suprised to see him there with our pick in the second round. If he is there, they should run up to the podium!!

Wilson is Ok but I have a feeling there will be a player with more talent still available with our third round pick.

I would love to get Gooden in the fourth round I have been raving about this cat to my friend for weeks. However, if we are going to get him I think we will have to pick him up in the third round.

And I would not touch the honey badger for any reason. He is a cancer and will kill our team chemistry.

some very good players it would be a good draft for Minnesota if we got someo fthose palyers this year.

WR Kenny Stills...I really believe we can get him in the 3rd round....This kid is a stud & is all about making his family proud so that DUI he got in college should not be a factor. If we don't get him the Vikes will be kicking themselves for the next 9 years....

I like him in the third or fourth rounds. Swope too, I think we should take two WRs in this draft and those are the two I would target in the later rounds.

You know who else ran 4.71?
    Jerry Rice
