Cowher would be my choice but I don't think there is much chance of him coming out of retirement. Kiffin will be free soon, as for Schotty not sure there is a huge upgrade there. I do think Chilly will take the can and be gone at the end of October during the bye week if things don't improve. Our only hope is that the rest of our division sucks worse than we do.

Im no expert but i think martyball would do well here.
I know he cant seem to win in the playoffs but hell,
    he gets to the playoffs!

He is one of the most winning coaches in NFL history and sometimes in the playoffs you need a little luck.
What a story it would be for a coach that seemed to choke in big games takes over a team with the SAME REPUTATION and gets it done...........wow.

Id still rather have the chin, i dont care what kind of defense he likes 3-4....4-3
    whatever.

I don't think the middle of the season is a good time to switch coaches.

I also think that we've played four pretty good teams.
We've been competitive in all of them.
So I do think we can compete with good teams.

We also have a long chunk of relatively light games ahead of us.
I'd hate to have Chilly fired, only to have another poor coach appointed and take advantage of that schedule to secure 3 more years here.
If Chilly can't get it done with the teams we play the rest of the way, then get the best available candidate in January.

Just a thought "out of the box." What's Robert Smith doing? (Offensive coach???) Probably a stupid thought but I'm trying not to think of the "usual." Boy, I tell ya, I ran into some Steeler'f fans and they sure like their new coach. CRAP!

    ^^^wishful thinking
You do know the Rams released Linehan today, don't you?
LInehan is extremely overrated!!... Do you not remember he was just as bad at play calling as Bevell was... we had the #1 offense in yards, but couldn't score inside the 20 to save our lives with him calling plays.. utterly ridiculous!!... he was an awful coach!!

I keep seeing Moochie on the NFL network and he always knows everything about everything and was brought in the true WCO, not the Philly abomination. Maybe he would be the best bet to hit the ground running. I wonder if we could trade Chilly to
    NFLN for Moochie straight up.

I think Frazier is our best bet.
Don't think we can take losing defensive coaches.

What I would like to see is a coach with some attitude.
We need some one that wants to go for the kill.
To many of the coaches of the vikes have been play it safe style of game managers.
Being calm and collective as a coach is fine but in the play calling and decisions show some guts.
Football is a violent sport and you need to be willing to run over some one when you get a chance and go for the jugular when you have a chance.
    Tell playmakers to make plays.
Don't ever tell your QB to just be safe above all else.
You get nothing accomplished when you do that.
