Thread: Should I keep Chester Taylor or Marion Barber in my fantasy league

Now granted, I've never played fantasy football & I don't know how you score points, but is my understanding that you don't get points for how many yards a RB gets, you only score points for the number of TDs he gets.

If that is the case, then I would go with Barber. He had 14 TDs in a back up role. Since Jones was not injured, was in all 16 games & only scored 4 TDs in 267 carries, compared to Barbers 14 TDs in half as many carries (135), it sounds to me like the Cowboys use Barber in the redzone more in scoring situations.

Couple that with Taylor, who only scored 6 tds in 303 carries, who had trouble pounding it in from the goal line & the reports from the Vikings that he will see less touches this year, IMO, tells me the RB who has the potential to score the most TDs for you.

The possibility of Taylor seeing more carries is slim & will probably be less, while the possibility of Barber seeing more is higher, seeing how he averaged a TD on every 10th carry last year.

Rushing Yards (10 yards per point)

Reception Yards (20 yards per point)
Reception Touchdowns (6)

According to Yahoo sports,

Chester Taylor had 1216 rushing yards, 6 TDs, 42 Receptions and 288 receiving yards = 208 Fantasy points.

Marion Barber had 654 rushing yards, 14 TDs, 23 Receptions, 196 receiving yards = 195. 7 points.

Obviously Tomlison is the guy to have in my league (460 points) but surprisingly, Steven Jackson is second with 1528 rushing yards, 13 rushing TDs, 90 receptions, 806 receiving yards and 3 TD receptions for 375. 6 fantasy points.

I think it depends on who we draft. If we get AP then keep barber. If we draft a decent WR then keep Chester 'the vespa' Taylor.
