Receiver depth.
Here is the deal. My current roster of receivers includes Roy Williams, Lee Evans, Darrell Jackson, Robert Meachum, and Troy Williamson.
I picked Meachum very late in the draft. I thought of 7th round pick in the real NFL draft Marques Colston last season and wondered what a 1st round pick Robert Meachum could do this year. Was I searching too hard for a sleeper or should I keep him?
Also, Troy Williamson, was my second to last pick in the draft. When I drafted, it was only after two preseason games. And Troy had a lot of action in Week 1 of the preseason. So I thought Troy was really going to be involved this year. However, since then he hasn't done much.
I was scanning the waiver wire and this is what I came up with.
Ronald Currey
DJ Hackett
Matt Jones
Devery Henderson
Kevin Curtis
Drew Bennett
Michael Jenkins
Jacoby Jones
Sidney Rice
Should I replace Meachum and Williamson with any of the above mentioned?

Re: Receiver depth.
Based on his performance in the last game I would replace Williamson with Rice.
But, then again it may be better to wait until after the 1st game.
Rice had a couple of nice grabs in the final preseason game.
If Williamson struggles, he will be on the bench.
Monitor the situation.

Pretty sure I'll have to get rid of Meachum.
Robert Meachem: Work in Progress
RotoWire.com Staff - RotoWire.com
Thursday, August 30, 2007
Update: Meachem still hasn't fully healed from surgery on his right knee in June and is no higher than sixth on the Saints' depth chart at wideout, the Times-Picayune reports.
Recommendation: "It's kind of lingering throughout the preseason. At times my knee feels OK, then at times it feels like, 'Wow, I didn't think it would still be aching like this,'" said Meachem. As a result of his injury and his spot on the depth chart, Meachem may be be inactive for several of the team's first few regular season games."There is good and there is evil. I would drop Meachum and take Curtis or Henderson; both are #2's on solid offensive teams.
Watch Hackett and Jones though...Jones, in particular.
He will draw single coverage while teams focus on Andre Johnson.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

As a matter of fact, I do know

Re: Receiver depth.
Henderson, Curtis, and Jenkins are all set to have better years than Meachem.
Jones, Bennett, and Jones are all better options than Meachem as well."I hate when threads are destroyed by facts and logic."
