LT vs AD
LaDainian Tomlinson vs. Adrian Peterson
By Thomas Griffenkranz
You have the first pick in your 2008 fantasy football draft; this pick will make or break your season. The right pick could mean you are heading to the playoffs, and the wrong pick can lead to you being the subject of ridicule from the rest of your league.

Re: LT vs AD
Thanks GG... nice read.
It's hard to refute Tomlinson's receiving skills are superior.
The article sums it up nicely:
Tomlinson is still the choice with the first pick. His career averages are better than the numbers Peterson put up in 2007. While we love Peterson's upside, Tomlinson has scored at least 18 touchdowns in each of the past four seasons and has at least another year or two of elite production left in the tank. Peterson may emerge as the top pick in a season or two, but right now Tomlinson is the safer choice of the two, and the right choice, as the No. 1 pick in your 2008 fantasy draft.

Re: LT vs AD
I like AD but the article nicely points out some of his downside.
Injuries, a couple of poor games, and less receptions.
Also, they pointed out one thing that AD has no control over, QB and WR positions.
Everyone can say we are better there (and I think we will be) but it has to be proven on the field first.
I do however, look forware to watching AD tear it up this year and improve as the season progresses.

Logic Glasses:
LT is the only choice here. He has been consistant his entire career and he will not stop now. AP has been playing for one year. Peterson could easily fall into the phase known as sophomore slump and do worse than last year. The vikings pass attack could be ineffective and defenses stock 8 guys in the box and AP's attempts will be futile. Also I had AP on my fantasy team last year and yes he did do amazing the first half of the season but no one really talks about his downward spiral during the second half. LT is for sure the most logical and only choice at number 1.

I think logically you have to go with L.T. here. That is that. He is too consistent and has proven it time and time again.
Adrian could be worth more and quite possibly will, but he is still a very UNKNOWN quality.

Exactly. I love AD to death Hell we all do. But I have too give the edge to LT at this time. NOt a rip on TJack but SD has the advantage at QB and WR/TE.Logic Glasses:

Until TJack proves everyone wrong(Including myself
;D) and can beat Defenses with his arm as well.
Defenses wil continue to stack the line to shut down AD. Although Rice and Wade a year older in the system and the addition of Berrian. AD could end up being the steal of tyhe draft even if he gets picked 2nd.

Re: LT vs AD
I would take LT first no question. Until someone shows up for more than one year, he will be the #1. i would take westbrook at number two as he gives the receiving bonus. this is why AP slips because if you are in a league with a point per catch, he doesnt catch alot

I read this article but thought this opening line was a real numb nuts statement. Whichever of the two backs you get to pick is a great pick, so getting either is hardly a wrong pick.LaDainian Tomlinson vs. Adrian Peterson

For fantasy picks though then I'd have to give LT the edge purely based on the respective offenses at this time. LT has a QB that can help move the ball and so prevent the Chargers being one dimensional. Now if TJ comes of age this season then it's a different story for future seasons.Time spent annoying a Packer fan is never time wasted...
