Yahoo.com has free ff and pay leagues all very easy
to use for new and pros alike.

You said newbie friendly so I doubt you would join one at this site, but I will give it just in case or for anyone else looking for a good pay site.

I was in a $50 league last year and it ws very competitive. The drafts are slow as hell though, cause every pick has a 12 hour time limit.

In the yahoo leagues, it sucks since only a few people actually follw their team through the whole year. That is why I like to enter pay leagues. They are more competitive and guys actually try the whole year.

I believe ESPN.com is starting a free fantasy football league this year for the first time, but I could be wrong.

I am a league manager of a pay league I run at my work, and I use ESPN's league manager to run my league. ESPN does a good job IMO.

We have one here that we fire up in August. Very friendly.
