Going into the league championship, need help.....

Im set at everything except runningback....

DeAngelo Williams vs Giants or Pierre Thomas vs Lions?

    My thoughts....

Williams has been nothing more than a fantasy stud as of recent and is one of the biggest reasons I am where I am in fantasy.
Both the Panthers and Giants play for home-field advantage in the NFC playoffs this Sunday.
I think the Giants will want to prove they have not rolled over amid the Burress ordeal and will want to look strong at home after 2 straight losses.
The run defense is darn good but has been burned by the liking of Brian Westbrook (my other back) and Tashard Choice the last two weeks.

I think Williams has been the better of those 2 the last several weeks and it is hard to sit him down.

What would PPO fantasy gurus do?

    My backs:

    D Williams(vs NYG)
    B Westbrook(vs WAS)
    P Thomas (vs DET)
    M Forte(vs GB)

    I can start 2.
...Rodgers had to hold on the ball longer, giving players like Jared "I am completely insane and will literally eat your children" Allen time to sack Rodgers again. And again. And again. Actually I think Rodgers may have nightmares about Jared Allen the rest of the year.

    D Williams(vs NYG)
tuff D.. will be a good match up.. but i don't see huge numbers.. maybe a TD

    B Westbrook(vs WAS)
Solid game for WestB.. Def a TD, and prolly 100+

    P Thomas (vs DET)
it's the kittens.. they will pass more.. run to eat clock.. possible 100+

    M Forte(vs GB)
forte will run over GB.. the bears will use the pass game as hester will be faster then gb's famed cb's. forte will get his carries and should get 1 TD and 100+

    for me..
    Westbrook
    Forte

Westbrook is hard to sit no matter what. You hav eto go with him every week unless he is injured. Thomas is a sleeper this week. But Duece will get a share of carries as well I think. even though its tough he would be the one to sit. Williams also has Stewart to share the carries with.
Yes he has been a stud but still splitting carries. I think the sfe bet may just be Forte. So Westbrook and Forte. But I think you ar ein good shape.
Also what is teh weather forcast for teh game, it starts snowing ect.
May make a huge difference, and look at Thomas since he is indoors

    I'm not sure I wouldn't sit Westbrook.
After all, he didn't exactly light up the Browns on Monday night, did he?
And the game is at Washington...

I'd be tempted to go with Williams and Forte.
As you've noted, Williams has been hotter than heck lately, and the Panthers are definitely more of a running team these days than a passing team.
And GBs run defense is horrid, the conditions will favor a running game, and it's Monday Night Football...and the Bears will be looking for revenge for the shellacking the Packers put on them at Lambeau.

Really, Thomas would be a great play too.
With Bush out, he'll get all the work and Detroit is soft everywhere.
But as others have said, NO is primarily a passing team.

I would start in this order.

    1. Forte vs. GB (GB gives up 22.9 pts/gm to RB, Forte is at home. I would expect a huge game.) ESPN Projects as #1 RB for week 16 with 26 pts.

    2. Thomas vs. DET (DET gives up 27.2 pts/gm to RB, Deuce is in the way, I would have no problem starting him and Forte.) ESPN projects as #2 RB for week 16 with 25 pts.

    3. Westbrook vs. WAS (WAS gives up 15.3 pts/gm to RB, but Westbrook is the center of the Eagles offense) ESPN projects as #12 RB for week 16 with 15 pts.

    4. D. Williams vs. NYG (NYG give up 13.8 pts/gm to RB. I would sit him.) ESPN projects as #5 RB for week 16 with 21 pts.

I think you could start Forte and Thomas. It is hard to sit Westbrook but even if he has a good game you have 4 RB that could possibly score over 20 pts. That is a good problem to have!

    Thanks PPE for the Sig

Re: Going into the league championship, need help.....

    Thanks for everyones input.

Here is what I decided to do and why.

    Im starting Westbrook and Williams.

I know Westbrook didn't have a stellar game against the terrible Browns, but, everytime he has had a bad game and I in turn bench him the following game, he has lit it up.
The Eagles are fighting for their playoff lives and the offense centers around Westbrook.
And he has seemingly good games against divisional foes.
He is my #1 pick, and I wouldnt be here without him.
    Why sit him now.

Williams because he has the hot legs.
Carolina is fighting for home-field in the playoffs.
Even though the Giants have a great defense, they have given some yards up recently to the likes of Westbrook and Tashard Choice.
I think the combination of Stewart and Williams will wear down the Giants d and Williams will break off a long one.

Another reason I can afford to take that chance is the rest of my team.
Romo, Megatron, Steve Smith, Dallas Clark (who already blew up), Crosby (green gay kicker) and Vikes d/st.

I have a good supporting cast.
The team I am playing does not have favorable player matchups.

Warner vs NE (at NE, forget about it)
Choice vs BAL (plus barber is back)
AP vs ATL (will have a good game)
A Bryant vs SD (should have a good game)
A Johnson vs OAK (will get shut down by that one awesome raider cb)
    J Shockey (garbage)
    J Reed
    ARZ D

    Again, thanks for everyones help!
...Rodgers had to hold on the ball longer, giving players like Jared "I am completely insane and will literally eat your children" Allen time to sack Rodgers again. And again. And again. Actually I think Rodgers may have nightmares about Jared Allen the rest of the year.

This is not last year's NE team.
They've allowed 26 TD passes, 2nd worst in the NFL.
Warner will get his yards and TDs

Choice vs BAL (plus barber is back)

Actually, I've heard Barber is still hurt and may not play, or play much

AP vs ATL (will have a good game)
A Bryant vs SD (should have a good game)

    Sorry, I disagree.
NO ONE has been able to shut Andre Johnson down this year...though Johnson does not have as many TDs as you might like
    .

    J Shockey (garbage)

Agreed...though they are playing the Lions...

    J Reed
    ARZ D

    The Arizona D?
    On the road?
    Against NE?
Now THAT is a horrible decision
    !

    Again, thanks for everyones help!

I just inserted Thomas and removed Williams.

My opponent picked up C Benson in favor of Choice.

So Thomas and Westbrook will get the call.
