every year since i was little my dad, the Viking nut, has done fantasy football!! Last season i was supposed to do it for the first time with my dad, but it didn't really pan out!! So this year, i am definately joining and i have been thinking about if i got the first pick in the draft, who would i take??! I know a lot of people have different philosophies about which position to take!! So let me know what your guy's strategies are!!!

I know its a little cliche, but i was planning on taking LT!! Before preseason, i was thinking of Shaun Alexander or Larry Johnson!! But when it comes down to it, the QB doesn't really need to be all that good to hand off to a RB!! Alexander lost his OG (oh yeah!) and Larry Johnson is considered the backup to Preist Holmes!!

no,no!! i meant that since Drew Brees is gone, that doesn't affect his running as much as losing a OG, having to split time with another RB!! Im not stupid!!

I always go quaterback because good backs are a lot easier to come by (I got Steven Jackson and Rudi Johnson in mid rounds last year)

The first 3 picks in any fantasy football draft are---

    Alexander
    Johnson
    LT

    Not always in that order.

Personaly I'd take Johnson first, but thats just me.

Herm Edwards said that Johnson is their STARTER, not Holmes.... he still may reitre anyway.

I am in a keeper league and I ended up being loaded last year..... I get to keep 2 guys and I have

    Larry Johnson
    Tiki Barber
    Chad Johnson
    Carson Palmer
    Tony Gonzalez

I want to keep LJ and Carson, but if Carson can't come back in time, I may have to go with LJ and Tiki.

    Thanks Lotza!

LT, all the way. I think Johnson and Alexander will still produce, but they both have question marks that keep them from being no. 1 overall. Still first rounders, but not #1.

    Some potential sleepers:
    Chester Taylor (let's hope)
Willie Parker (should get more carries at least)
Philip Rivers (doubtful, but he's in a good position w/ LT & Gates)
Detroit WR's, Martz at OC, Harrington not throwing to them, and they'll likely be playing from behind a lot which means more passing.
