The NFL puts a player in for the team he spent the most time with.
The player can choose to say what he wants.
    Randall is a lock.
Zim I thought has been on the list before.

You do NOT GO INTO THE P.F.H.O.F. as a member of a certain team...

Every year you hear the same thing, like with Warren Moon . He didn't go in as an Oiler. His bust as with all others has a plaque that lists ALL the teams he played with, Oilers, Vikings, Seahawks, and Cheifs. When Zimmerman gets in it will list the Vikings and Broncos. McDaniel ,Vikings and Buccaneers.

Sadly Chris Doleman didn't make the list of finalists...

A perfect example of he Vikings NOT promoting their players for the HOF, just like with Marshall and Mick..

    No kidding.
But the HoF (not me) lists the players a way in which the team they spent the majority of their time with is noted.

Like people are going to think of McDaniel as a Buc?

    Zim ?
It's not like baseball...they go in as players.

Then my question should have been, "How will they be remembered by MOST?"
I guess that's up to each individual fan. Me , I for one am glad when ANY player who was with the Vikings gets in. I was excited about Warren Moon getting in last summer, because REGARDLAESS of what any other Viking fan thinks, to me, Moon was a Viking. Granted for a short time, bit nonetheless, he was a Viking. The same with Zimmerman. I have an older brother who is a Broncos fan and he's just as excited as me if Gary gets in. To him, it's another Bronco in. That's why I give it up to a team I can really do without, the Raiders. I've gone to a
few games up in Oakland and when they salute the Raiders in the HOF, they show all of them, from long time Raiders like Otto and Blanda to players who were there a little while, like Ronnie Lott and Eric Dickerson.
Like I said it's up to the individual ....

And McDaniel DIDN'T get a ring. He was retired in 2002.....

Actually my girlfriend's brother is a long time Bucs fan and was a huge Randall fan. To him it's a Buc going in.

I put it like this... Reggie White is in the HOF. Do only

    They don't?
You even quoted the link above!
    LOL!

    http://www.profootballhof.com/hof/teams.html

Here is what the Official NFL Hall of Fame site states:

NOTE: In this listing - a Hall of Famer is named under all clubs on which he made his primary contribution to professional football - (i.e. - Chuck Noll is listed under Pittsburgh as a coach - but not under Cleveland as a player). Hall of Famers who made the major part of their primary contribution for any one club are listed in BOLD CAPS. In cases where a player contributed about equally and in a major way to two or more clubs - he is listed in BOLD CAPS under both clubs (ie. Nick Buoniconti is listed with both the Patriots and Dolphins as his primary teams). Hall of Famers who spent only a minor portion of their career with any club are listed under that club in lower case.

I would consider his 1 year a "minor portion".

Please check links provided next time.

Re: Zimmerman and McDaniel make list of finalists for HOF

The great thing about the HOF is the NFL really promotes the player and gives the fans something to relish in by not making a player designate 1 team when he retires.
Spreading the wealth is a win-win for every fan . . . and in this day of trades and FA, it was wise for them to do this!

Just one more thing that makes the NFL better than MLB.

"No Greater Friend . . . No Worse Enemy. U.S. MARINES"
"FIND YOUR PASSION AND MAKE IT HAPPEN!"
"SUCCESS LOOKS EASY TO THOSE THAT WEREN'T THERE WHEN IT WAS BEING ACHIEVED!"

I dunno about Zimmerman but McDaniel definetely
deserves to be there! What was it, 14 pro bowls he made? I remember him back in the day, model of consistency...

If he doesn't make it, it will be a shame...

    14 straight.
He has more Pro Bowls than anybody (I believe), and he did it consecutively (sp).
