I was going to dispute your claim that he's awful by point out his amazing performance against the steelers(top defense in the nfl). Then I read the disclaimer and decided it would be pointless.

The reason that he did so well is because the Steelers sold out to stop the run and left the middle of the field wide open. If they played normal D I think it would've been a different game. What about his performances against the Bills, Pats, and KC? Not top D's (worst for Pats) yet he was garbage.

And while Tebow has pulled out some wins, he's 8-4 as a starter... The guy lost to good teams and beat crappy ones... big f'n deal. If Roethisberger and Mendenhall had been healthy, that game wouldn't have been close. Tebow sucks.

And if Dawkins had been healthy the game would have been very different as well.

I agree ... he definitely is not the best quarterback in the league or anything. But NOBODY is claiming that. The conversation is HUGE because so many people hate him and so many love him. It is not just because everyone loves him or because of his religion.

You're right ... if he was saying, "Praise Allah!" people would have a problem with it. JUST LIKE people have a problem with his "Praise Jesus!" You are ignoring the fact that there is a LARGE contingent of people like you whining about him wearing his religion on his sleeve. The only difference, is your group is not called ignorant like a group whining about, "Praise Allah!" would be called.

His religion has NOTHING to do with people losing their shit. They are losing their shit simply because a) he was one of the top 5 college football players ever and everyone has constantly had it shoved down their throat he can't play in the NFL b) Because he was the catalyst for a 1-4 team turning it around and making the playoffs c) He creates such a rift between the "He can't play" and the "All he does is win" crowd that both sides are constantly yelling and whining instead of admitting it is probably somewhere in the middle.

The conversation would still be at loud as it is whether he was wearing his religion on his sleeve or not. The religion is just another aspect of his character to discuss. The STORY is Tim Tebow, not Christianity.

His performance against the Pats was far from garbage. A loss is not garbage just like a win is not automatically good.

Ifs, ands or buts are all fun ... but no matter what you think about "if they played a normal D blah blah blah" it doesn't matter. He torched them, multiple times.

His game against the Bills was not bad until the final 7 minutes, which were obviously terrible. And obviously his game against the Chiefs was dreadful. But Ponder has had some pretty dreadful games and I most around these parts are not throwing him to the wolves.

I don't get why most young quarterbacks get a "growing process" but Tim Tebow needs to be an elite thrower EVERY week for people to accept him. How many quarterbacks with less than 4 years of experience are still playing? TWO. And I don't hear people constantly bashing TJ Yates (who obviously has a better built offense than the Broncos).

I can't say whether or not Tebow will be a good quarterback going forward. I personally think he can, but I could easily see him never getting it together also. But, just like with Ponder, I am going to at least give it a fair shake before saying "he sucks." I think it is obvious he is not going to be a Peyton Manning or a Matt Stafford or a Tom Brady. But I can definitely see him being as good as a Joe Flacco type. A guy who can win with the right pieces around him.
