Would You Trade Ladainian Tomlinson?
There are rumors going around he will get shopped.. Of course they are rumors and I think there is no chance he goes
But if you ran the Chargers and saw Darren Sproles emerge.. Would YOU trade him?
I think there is not a chance in hell I would.. He is the face of that franchise and in his "down year" this year still had 1100 yards and 12 TDs
No team would give the value it would take to get him IMO
He is a great player and great leader.. Personally I would roll with the one two punch
Thoughts?

Re: Would You Trade Ladainian Tomlinson?
It depends.
What is the prognosis for recovery on his torn groin tendon or whatever it was?
Does he still want to play there?
What is his contract situation?
The idea of Sproles being able to produce at a level LT has over a long period of time is a huge long shot. That performance against the Colts was impressive but not likely to be often duplicated if ever.

Re: Would You Trade Ladainian Tomlinson?
He should recover easily from what i've read.. he almost even played
He does want to be there still
And he makes about 8 mill a year I think.. I think he is worth every penny
Sproles can't block like LT
Sproles can't catch like LT
Sproles can't run like LT

Re: Would You Trade Ladainian Tomlinson?
If I'm the Chargers front office, I hate to say it, but yes.
He'll be 30 next season, has a TON of mileage. Has had late seasons semi-severe injuries the past couple seasons which have kept him out of the playoffs.
Despite these negatives, he's still one of the best to ever play the game and I feel I could get something of serious value for him from a team that's willing to take that "risk."

Re: Would You Trade Ladainian Tomlinson?
Simple answer: Hell no sproles is No LT by any means. However in the situation we are in if LT is CT yes trade and get a QB. If LT is AD Hell no

I can see how that could be a good move and I don't disagree with anything you said. maybe just for the sake of conversation I will throw out a few reasons to keep him.If I'm the Chargers front office, I hate to say it, but yes.

Legacy- Having him remain a Charger and with a strong team that could compete again over the next few years, it's a good thing to have an elite player on the team and if they were to win the SB, he would be a great part of the legacy of this team.
Leadership- Although I personally think he gets a little whiny(SP?), he is a presence on the offense and I believe he elevates the play of those around him. That can be valuable.

Re: Would You Trade Ladainian Tomlinson?
I think it would be idiotic to roll with Hester and Sproles.. Sproles had 1 good game and people are crowning him
I don't think he could take it as a full time back yet

Re: Would You Trade Ladainian Tomlinson?
I don't buy into that 30+ year crap
He still had 50 receps and 1100 yards and 12 TDs this year.. And came on strong at the end
He still has plenty of mileage.. And spliting carries will keep him fresh through out the year
He blocked 10000 times better then sproles
He can catch way better then sproles
And is 100000 times the runner sproles is

Re: Would You Trade Ladainian Tomlinson?
He is the face of the franchise there and a legand
Shit if the Packers traded Brett when he turned around 30 or so after a "down year" they would be fucked
You don't trade people like LT
