When NFL player personnel folks, scouts, coaches and trainers gathered in Indianapolis in February 2005 to evaluate that year's prospective draftees, there was genuine excitement. The talent from Auburn alone was good enough to stock an entire division with first-rounders....

Re: Worst Draft Class NFL wide

but really, how does that compare to other years?
There are many players that never really got a good chance due to injuries (ronnie brown, Caddie Williams, Erasmus James)

    here's what I think

    1 Alex Smith
    QB Utah San Francisco 49ers
    bad choice
    2 Ronnie Brown
    RB Auburn Miami Dolphins
    good pick
    3 Braylon Edwards
    WR Michigan Cleveland Browns
    good
    4 Cedric Benson
    RB Texas Chicago Bears

    SUCKED
    5 Cadillac Williams
    RB Auburn Tampa Bay Buccaneers

great player, but due to injuries, he never really gets a chance
    6 Pacman Jones
    CB West Virginia Tennessee Titans

skill wise, great, but other things are what causes problems for him
    7 Troy Williamson
    WR South Carolina Minnesota Vikings

    NIce Hands
    8 Antrel Rolle
    DB Miami (Fla.) Arizona Cardinals
    9 Carlos Rogers
    DB Auburn Washington Redskins
    10 Mike Williams
    WR USC Detroit Lions

    11 DeMarcus Ware
    OLB Troy State Dallas Cowboys
    solid pickup
    12 Shawne Merriman
    OLB Maryland San Diego Chargers
should be a viking instead of Choke Williamson
    13 Jammal Brown
    T Oklahoma New Orleans Saints
    fairly decent player
    14 Thomas Davis
    DB Georgia Carolina Panthers
    15 Derrick Johnson
    OLB Texas Kansas City Chiefs
    16 Travis Johnson
    DT Florida State Houston Texans
Has been playing not too bad,
    17 David Pollack
    LB Georgia Cincinnati Bengals
    Career ending injury
    18 Erasmus James
    DE Wisconsin Minnesota Vikings
solid rookie season, injury plagued since then
    19 Alex Barron
T Florida State St. Louis Rams
    20 Marcus Spears
    DE Louisiana State Dallas Cowboys

    21 Matt Jones
    WR Arkansas Jacksonville Jaguars

Not quite 1st round material, but decent still.
Maybe it has something to do with the qb he's had.
once he gets more comfortable with Garrard we may see great things out of him
    22 Mark Clayton
    WR Oklahoma Baltimore Ravens
    23 Fabian Washington
    CB Nebraska Oakland Raiders
    24 Aaron Rodgers
    QB California Green Bay Packers
Has played about a solid half of quality football, but the jury is still out on him.
    25 Jason Campbell
    QB Auburn Washington Redskins
After having been thrown to the wolves "T-Jack style"
He has managed just fine. Untill he popped out his kneecap that is
    26 Chris Spencer
    C Mississippi Seattle Seahawks
    27 Roddy White
    WR Alabama-Birmingham Atlanta Falcons
Hard to say, since he does play for Atlanta.
On a better team he could be a
    pretty good player
    28 Luis Castillo
    DE Northwestern San Diego Chargers
    29 Marlin Jackson
    DB Michigan Indianapolis Colts
    30 Heath Miller
    TE Virginia Pittsburgh Steelers
    Good player
    31 Mike Patterson
    DT USC Philadelphia Eagles
    32 Logan Mankins
G Fresno State New England Patriots

    Starters in this league.
