Winners and losers: Favre sends a message

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AsaKWCLfmSK1VUe72aj7qq1DubYF?slug=cr-winnersandlosers092808&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

    • Vikings coach Brad Childress
For some inexplicable reason, Childress burned a timeout to consider whether to challenge the spot of a catch by Titans wideout Justin Gage. Then, after talking it over with coaches, he threw the challenge flag. The spot of the catch was upheld, and Childress lost a second timeout. Don’t give me that garbage about saving your challenge. Childress should have just thrown the flag in the first place.

He has to take a time out to build up enough courage to throw the challenge flag? No guts.

Ya that really made no sense at all. Worst outcome would have been losing a time out anyway. Is all i can figure is he was trying to save his challenges...but come on you are a coach in the nfl, you can't make dumb mistakes like that.

from the perspective i saw.. i think he was seeing what to challange.

    1. the placement of the foward progress.

    2. the fumble.

if you see him discussing with the ref's it seems that he was being told what he could and couldn't challange.
and in that time his coaches./aids were viewing IF it was viable to win the challange.

seems to me at the end of the half he made a decent decision..
now.. here's a thought.. can they challange the fumble.. and does the replay have audio so they can see that it came out before the whistle was blown?
