Winless Detroit Lions didn't become bad overnight (With some FO Puke articles)

DETROIT (AP) -- The winless Detroit Lions didn't get this awful overnight.

It took several years and many mistakes by Matt Millen.

Millen, the team's former general manager, took over a mediocre franchise in 2001 and over seven-plus seasons, he built a team bad enough to pose a threat to be the NFL's first 0-16 team.

    Twice.

Millen's first team started 0-12 and the last one he shaped also has lost its first 12 games, heading into Sunday's home game against the Minnesota Vikings.

    lol

that article actually makes me laugh.
If anyone doubts how awful a franchise the lions are, all they need to do is read that.

A good FO will keep a team competitive, a bad FO will keep a team, well, like the Lions, Raiders, etc.

A couple of teams that I am watching with interest.......

    1.
    Chargers.
14-2 season and they (the FO) fire the HC.
Sure Norv got them close last year but we are seeing what his coaching prowess will really do to a team.

    2.
    Miami.
Say what you will about the Tuna.
He can shop for groceries anytime.

    3.
    Atlanta.
They hit pay dirt down there.
Remember how every sports hack in the world was hacking on them for signing Ryan early and for the huge contract....... ;D

    4.
    KC.
Jury is still out on this FO but they seem to be making the right moves with respect to talent in their youth movement.
Next year will really tell I think.

I think so if you are saying that you believe some of the Chargers success last year can be attributed to what Marty left behind.

There is increasing speculation that in order to return, Savage may have to give up some authority. He is one of about 22 NFL general managers with contractual control over the selection of the 53-player roster.

This legacy is not a product of bad luck or quirks. It has required consistent blunders on the part of a front office that has been long criticized and second-guessed for its bungled roster-building.

    Wait a minute.
Yet another article with crap about how the FO builds the roster.
    What the hell.
We all know the HC does this stuff....... ;D (Boy am I having fun) ;D

Yet negotiations haven't resumed. Bartelstein has called General Manager Rod Graves in recent weeks, but the conversations haven't gone beyond pleasantries.
