    Re: Williamson: Top-10 pass-rushers

I'm a bit sad that Farve retired :'(

I enjoyed seeing John Randle knock him on his ass (before or after Farve threw the ball
    )

and would have loved to see JA doing the same.

That pretty much sums it up. I think that the defensive line is going to be VERY talked about by the "experts" by the middle of the season. I don't think the league or the analysts quite understand the dominance about to be unleashed. And NOOOO ... those are not purple shades I am wearing
    ;D
    1. All 3 pro-bowlers made it by talent.. not name recognition..
    2. All 3 pro-bowlers REQUIRE dbl teamed assignments..

here's my question to OC's in the nfc.

So, u can't run.. your QB will have <5 sec to make a decision.. and your. TE, RB, are all tied up helping block either Jared, or one of the Williams. Slants will be open duck season for the lb's.. your
over the middle WR, and quick route jumpers will deal with 2 of the harder hitting/tackling cb's.
and our safties will be waiting.. just waiting for that floater over the D line pass.

    so... where u gonna go?

    7. Shawne Merriman, LB, San Diego Chargers: Merriman has taken his shots in the wake of his steroid suspension and getting blown up by Jacksonville running back Maurice Jones-Drew last season. Still, this is a quality player. Merriman is a big talent and is a threat to take over a game at any time. Quarterbacks fear him.
    Such a ridiculous understatement.
He should be at least second on that list, imo.

    Re: Williamson: Top-10 pass-rushers

In my mind, it's no doupt that Jared Allen is among the top 3 best pass rushers in the NFL today. When I went on NFL.com today, I got surprised when I saw today's poll. The poll said: "Who is the best pass rusher in the league?" and there was 5 options. None of them where Jared Allen.
    Now that's just wrong man!

By the way, here's the options:

    Falcons DE John Abraham

    Steelers LB James Harrison

    Dolphins LB Joey Porter

    Cowboys LB DeMarcus Ware

    Texans DE Mario Williams

Last time I checked, DeMarcus Ware was in the lead.

I also voted for DeMarcus Ware. However I might have voted for Mario Williams, but DeMarcus Ware has been in the league a little longer than him. How James Harrison, John Abraham and Joey Porter got on that list instead of Allen is beyond me. They played really good this year and I think all of them has career high sack numbers this season, but Allen is right by them in numbers and he's the only one in the NFL who has two safeties.

I seems like the NFL.com crew just cares about this season's sack numbers.
I say we all send a mail to the NFL.com to complain about this

    probably all by sack totals.
Demarcus Ware is #1 with 15, followed by Joey Porter (14.5) James Harrison(14) John Abraham (12.5) and Justin Tuck/Lamar Woodley (11.5)
Jared Allen is tied for 7th with 11.
Thats probably where they get their stats from, and lets be honest, with minnesota being a small market team, noone outside of vikes fans watches all the games and watches the dominance that Allen puts on other teams, they just look at the stats.

Funny you say that, because I was checking where Jared Allen fit in too. He is among 3 guys are tied for 7th in sacks. He's got 2 safeties and who knows how many QB hurries. And he wreaks havoc.

Personally, I think he's having a better year than Abraham...and Justin Tuck should be on that list too.
