the modern tight end of today does not fit the mold of what wiggins is.
he's slow, can't do nothing after the catch except for try to leap frog defenders and is not that great of a blocker.
he's just solid at best, but he ain't gonna break nothing and unless you are a kyle brady or kleinsasser type blocker there's not much use for you.
shank hopefully opens things up for the whole passing game.
Tell that to all the Wiggins crotch sniffers out here in PP.O land!
    Wait...you just did.
    tell me about it.
i mean i like wiggins, but he is what he is.
me and my brother call him hunchback
I remember when I first made the comment along the lines of "He doesn't fit the scheme".
Those guys came out of the woodwork with things like.....

    The head coach sucks.
The head coach play calling sucks.
The head coach should change the scheme so we can keep fat old slow TE's who used to be good and is my favorite player and I own his jersey on the team.......... ;D

But hey, it is fun to rattle them a bit. (Watch here they come
    ;D)
The head coach, up to this point, has sucked.
The playcalling, except for one preseason game and a couple of early games last year, has sucked.
If Childress does what he did last year, opting to bench players instead of changing his scheme, we will suck again.

    Bring it on.
    See, I told ya.

    ;D

Yep, I'm here, but I got about 10 mins before I have to start real work so you better hurry if you want some more.
    [/quote]
    Work is slow now.
    Lots of time.
    ;D
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

So... he can do something after the catch?

This is incomprehensible to me. Somebody will pick him up. I can't believe he went from hero to zero so quickly.

He's still better than Shiancoe until our new TE does something/anything in the NFL.
Apparently you and Tice are the only two that think so.
I think a lot of Wiggy's success had to do with the deep threat offense that Tice ran, opening up the box for him to take the short passes.
Very few offenses still operate that way, so he will have a hard time succeeding.
I like Wiggy, but I don't see him being better than Shank in our current system.
    i'm with your nodak.
the only thing is what do we define as success?
wiggins caught alot of balls when he was with us but it's not like he ever had a 10+ td season or even close.
i dont believe he had 100 yard recieving game as a vike.
closest he got to 1000 yards was what, 600?
all i'm saying is alot of tight ends, backup and starters could have done what wiggins did as a viking.
he caught outs and curls and made some nice catches sometimes.
but some of you talk like he was shannon sharpe.
there was a reason why we were the longest tenure he had a with any club, cuz most teams found better options quite quickly.

geez if he got cut by jacksonville before the season started that is a good sign he definetly made a few plays here, I guess he's just getting too old.I can see someone signing him.
