Wiggins cuts by Jags
http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm
PFT has learned that the Jacksonville Jaguars have cut tight end Jermaine Wiggins, safety Nick Sorensen and linebacker/defensive end Jorge Cordova.
Wiggins was a free agent signing who played for the Vikings last year. Sorensen was heading into his fourth season with the Jaguars. Cordova was the Jags' third-round pick in 2004.
Jaguars assistant head coach Mike Tice had previously coached Wiggins when Tice was the head coach in Minnesota, and Tice was said to have pushed for the signing of Wiggins to a one-year, $1 million contract this off-season.
Wiggins was shaken up after a big hit in the Packers' preseason game at Green Bay last week and was reported to have suffered a concussion. He also had a key drop in the game.Zeus wrote:
When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

Re: Wiggins cuts by Jags
I know Wiggy had some great catches for us and we have an emotional bias towards him.
But, he is slow, and he doesn't block as well as an all around TE, not the prototypical basketball Gates-like TE of today.
I am not surprised he was cut.
Don't get me wrong, I like Wiggins.

I'm a little surprised, but not that much.Just like Snow said, we all have a little bias t words him for making some fantastic catches and plays. However he disappeared in our offense last year, and I'm sure his age has really caught up with him this year.
But I will always have a little purple love for Wiggins in my heart.
Theres NOTHING greater then a Florida Gator!

Not surprised.
Wiggy was not a well rounded TE.
I never liked the fact he always lept instead of digging in and driving.
Leaping over defenders can be dangerous.

Re: Wiggins cuts by Jags
Wiggy was the man for a couple of years. I got his jersey just for that and I would never be embarrassed to wear it. The Culpepper one is a different story...

People who see life as anything more than pure entertainment are missing the point.
