Why are the Dolphins after Carrol?

I know to this point it is all speculation that the Dolphins are trying to lure Carrol away from USC, but didnt they learn their lesson the first time with Saban?
Carrol, like Saban, loves coaching in the college ranks.
He went back to college after two stints as an NFL Head Coach.
I know he is a good coach, but why after losing a guy who you lured away from college would you go after another that you have to lure away from the place where he likes to coach the most?
I think they are making a mistake going after Carrol.
It could end up just as the Saban era did.
It kinda makes me wonder how the players would even like a hiring like that, would they trust him?
It could work out great for them but I think they would be taking a huge chance.

Carrol coached for the Vikes back in the day. Had his shot with the Pats I wonder if he would even accept the offer, I highly doubt it.

Wayne Huizenga has a hard-on for the big names.
There aren't any big name NFL coaches (like hiring the Tuna or getting Jimmy Johnson back) so the place to turn is college.
Carroll has been the best college HC for about the last 5 years, so that's name Numero Uno on that list, regardless of his past record in the NFL.

Remember - Bill Belichek lost in his first NFL coaching job.

It wasn't a point made to determine his ability to win, but why would he even try. He is royalty, gets paid fat money and has a lockdown on recruiting in the western part of the united states.

And I see you weren't talking to me.....so I will change that to say I wasn't trying to say he couldnt win in the NFL just because I referenced his past failure.

    Yah - I know.
I'm trying to get inside Huizenga's bald head and devine his rationalization.
If I were Carroll, I wouldn't do it.
He's a god in SC right now.

    Why?

Maybe because he has only lost 4 games in the last 3 years...or something like that.

He comes back to the NFL...he'll bomb.

Have the Dolphins hired anybody yet?

Are they still interested in Carrol?

I thought he would stay in USC forsure because he has it made in the shade.

    If I was him, I wouldn't leave.

You can't bribe players in the NFL....

Huizenga should hire Mora Jr....but he is probably gonna go with Shula Junior instead.
May or may not work...but it will be funny that Shula would be replacing the man who is replacing him! LOL
BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE
