Hard to remember that nearly half the league suffers without a Super Bowl title. At least we have been there ... Though it has been a while.

Oddly enough, I think it's the Lions.
Schwartz, Johnson, improving defense, if Stafford can stay healthy and they continue to improve at this rate(unlikely) they'll be a real contender.

You think the Lions are closer than the Falcons? What about the Chargers and Eagles?

It is definitely possible for the Lions to become something down the road, but I would say those three teams are ahead of them right now. Of course windows open and close for teams quickly in this league and in two years the answer to this question could be the Browns or Panthers.
The fun of the NFL.

Falcons are completely overrated. They had a cakewalk schedule and got embarassed in the playoffs.

At some point they're going to have to win individual matchups, and outside of a couple of guys on the line, White, Tony Gonzalez(not for long,) that's just not going to happen. Especially on the defensive side of the ball.
The Eagles defense is going to continue to decline without Jim Johnson in charge. Samuel and the rookie safety whose name escapes me at the moment looked great this year, but other than those two their defense is nothing special. Especially at the LB position. They definitely have young talent at the skill positions on offense, but their line sucks.
I think both of those teams have more work to do than Detroit.
The Lions are building, fast.

I believe the Lions are headed in the right direction, and moving quickly...I can see them as a wild card playoff team next season.

I LOVE THE SMELL OF VICTORY IN THE MORNING AIR.

It wont be the Vikings unless they move to LA and change owners. These guys are too busy lobbying for a new building to focus on building a championship team.
The sad oart is if they would have focused solely on the team and won SB the rest would have taken care of itself.

Why does Houston include the Oilers? Oilers became the Titans, Texans were an expansion franchise. Just how the Colts didn't become the Ravens
