I don't know BLV. I think this year clearly layed out who will be next. Andre Reed.
Even though he doesn't have a SB Champ behind his name, 4 consecutive SB appearances seems to be the mark that puts him ahead of Tim and CC.
Both, especially CC had thier moments with the press as well. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Who deserves it, CC. Who will it be, Reed.
I would have taken all three of the guys above over Michael Irvin, I don't give a crap if he has multiple super bowl rings.
He did give a good speech though I will hand him that.

Look at this before you vote. Might sway your vote.

The + indicates guys in the HOF.
T.O. and Randy are first ballot HOFers, hopefully CC isn't still waiting when they hit the 5 yr mark. Gonzo the TE shows up on these stats, he is also a first ballot guy at that position.

Guys that will have a chance to come up on CC, Reed, and Brown will be Harrison, Moss and Owens.

I thought there was a good number of people (other than Vike fans) that were upset Carter didn't get in the first time around. I haven't heard much about any disappointment now. Is it that they have accepted that he won't get in for a while from the results that happened in recent voting. Carter was one of the first guys that started putting up the 100 reception seasons back to back. Also he was one of the best possession receivers in the game. Culpepper didn't make him who he was, oh but maybe people think that Randy made Carter, LOL!
The reason that I said Reed is because of the lack of confidence I have in the voters, that is the reason why I said the person that deserves it is CC. Once again, I don't have confidence in the voters.

Re: Who will be the next WR to make the NFL HOF?
It looks like Reed will get in before Carter.
That would be a damn shame, as anyone who has seen them both play should see that Carter was the superior receiver. Carter's stats are much better as well. Leading the NFL in reception TDs three times and twice hitting 122 receptions when 100 receptions was rare for anyone not named Jerry Rice.
Tim Brown? His stats are not even close.

Close to who?

Carter:
Receptions --- 1,101
Yards --- 13,899
TD's --- 130
Carter has the clear edge on TD's. Brown has yards. And with a 7 reception difference receptions is a wash.
So to say Brown is not close is not accurate at all.

I was going to say Sherling Sharpe, but I'd come off as a complete homer.

Re: Who will be the next WR to make the NFL HOF?
Someone told me Andre Reed got the edge over Carter this year because of post-season impact. So that should be counted for Brown too, right?
Let's take a look at some post season statistics:
Brown: 12 games. 45 catches(3.75p/g). 581 yards(48ypg). 3 TDs.
Carter: 14 games. 63 catches(4.50p/g). 870 yards(62ypg). 8 TDs.
Reed: 19 games. 85 catches(4.47p/g). 1229 yards(64ypg). 9 TDs.
None of these guys have Super Bowls.
Carter and Reed are practically tied in catches per game and yards per game in the playoffs. In 5 less games Carter has 1 less TD. As far as I'm concerned, post-season impact is a complete cop-out by some voters to keep Carter out.
Brown: 2nd best regular season stats of the group, worst post-season stats.
Carter: Best regular season stats of the group. Tied for post-season stats with Reed.
Reed: Worst regular season stats, tied for the best post season stats with Carter.
So of the 3, the guy 1st place and a 1st(t) place is somehow less likely to get in than the guy with a 3rd place and a 1st(t) place finish.
It's nothing but politics. Carter should have been in on his first ballot.
