Who wants tickets to the Super Bowl?

In the past I have posted the lottery system the Vikings organization uses to award season ticket holders the opportunity to buy superbowl tickets.
But what if you aren't a season ticket holder, and you want to watch the Vikings win Super Bowl XLII in Glendale, AZ next season? ;D

Never fear, there are always ways to get your hands on tickets.
I did some searching, and got a feel for the prices if you want to buy them from a distributer.
If you happen to have $120,000 lying around, you could score a row 1 seat in one of the endzones.
If you are looking for something a little more in your price range, $3600 will buy you a ticket in the nose bleed section.
Oh BTW, you have to buy them in pairs, so double that.

    But there is another way...

Every year, the NFL distributes around 500 paris of tickets to fans through an annual Super Bowl random drawing.
There is no charge to enter, and if you are chosen, you will have the opportunity to buy a pair of SuperBowl tickets at face value.
They typically run around $400 each.

If you are interested in taking your chances with the annual Super Bowl random drawing, the NFL's only method of selling Super Bowl tickets to the general public, you must follow the NFL's guidelines exactly. Requests for the random drawing are accepted between February 1st and June 1st of each year preceding the game and all Super Bowl ticket requests must be sent via certified or registered mail to:

    Super Bowl Random Drawing
    P.O. Box 49140
    Strongsville, OH 44149-0140

Applicants must put their name and address on their request and send only one per household—duplicate requests are discarded. Over the summer acknowledgments are sent out and the Super Bowl ticket drawing is held in October. Everyone who entered the Super Bowl ticket lottery will be notified at that time of the drawing. No, there are no complimentary tickets available.

    Good Luck!

I usually buy my tickets from Meathead.

Re: Who wants tickets to the Super Bowl?

Tomorrow the NFL starts accepting entries for the random drawing.
Why not give it a shot?
It may cost $5 to send it through certified mail, but think of how cool it would be to watch the Vikings play Super Bowl XLII in Glendale next year...

BTW, I have no idea what the odds are.
I know that 1% of the seats are given out in the drawing.
UoP Stadium can expand up to 73,000 seats, which I assume it will for the SuperBowl.
That means that only 365 pairs of tickets will be given out.

Just pulling numbers out of my ass, I am estimating that around 2,250,000 entries are received (roughly equal to the number of NFL season tickets).
That puts your odds at around 1 in 6250.
To be honest, those odds aren't that bad...
