Who wants to buy a pre-owned Carr?

    Maybe the Vikes do?

    • Minnesota: Second-year Vikings coach Brad Childress is another highly regarded offensive mind with no proven quarterback. The Minnesota depth chart, now that the Vikings have cut veteran Brad Johnson, features Brooks Bollinger and long-term project Tarvaris Jackson. The team is said to like Jackson's potential, but he is nowhere near being ready to play yet. The Vikings might be interested in drafting Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn, but Carr would offer a more immediate return on their investment.
    Sounds good to me.

    Best Strategy:

Wait for pick #7 to see if Quinn is available.
If not, try trading a 4th or 5th or combinations thereof for Carr.

IF he's still available, that is.

Re: Who wants to buy a pre-owned Carr?

Lets look at this from another perspective ($$$$$).
I am assuming these numbers are correct.

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/column...ohn&id=2758756

Raiders - $6.2 million (They've been spending. Not sure how much is left but unless he restrutures the don't have enough for Carr and thier drafted players.
    Count them out.)

    Miami - $13.1 million
($6.75 million salary vs $7.2 - Rumor mill has them pursuing Green.
They might also be trying for Carr as well and will sign whichever one comes in the cheapest.)

Cleveland - $26.2 million (They have the money but I think Charlie Frye is about the same kindof QB with the same OL issues.
Probably count them out as they will continue to spend in other areas i.e OL).

    Detroit - $15.6 million
(They also have the $$ and have addressed other needs in FA already.
My bet would be that if they spend $6.5 or so on a QB it will be Quinn and not Carr.
Martz seems to be happy with Kitna anyway).

Minnesota - $12.2 million (I thought we had more than this :.
Maybe that is a big reason why we haven't been so active in signing 2nd Tier players to 1rs Tier $$.
I would still like to see Carr/Green restructure their contracts for a lower rate but wouldn't mind seeing them spend some bucks on one of these two (Like Carr better) here.
Gives the Vikes some depth, buys some time for TJ to develop etc etc etc.)

My bet would be that we would be competing for Miami at this point for Carr/Green.
Endstate is we will get one of them on the roster.
    ;D

I think that if he didnt have a defender in his face every pass attempted Carr might be a pretty good quarterback.

The best part of my day is when I get down on my knees, with my head in my hands, and thank GOD for everything he has given me.

Well, this is also before the Vikings officially announced that we had about $30 Million to spend under the cap. So no, those numbers are wrong.
