I think it will be along the lines of what V4L said, except he won't play.
He'll sit out for a good portion of the season.

He could also pull a Seau, and retire breifly only to sign as a FA with another team
Cincy would still hold his rights, ala jake plummer.
then how did NE manage to wrestle Seau away from Miami?

At that time, I think that Miami released Seau.

Chad would be like Barry Sanders, the Bengals would black ball him like the Lions did to Sanders.

If you break the contract an don't play, the team that had you keeps your rights.
Another team has to compensate them to take on that player.
I am not sure if the rights supersede the contract length?

Sounds to me that after rejecting the Redskins offer for a 1st round pick, and a 3rd rounder which could turn into a 1st rounder next year depending on Johnson's performance most likely means the Bengals will NOT be trading him away.
    Sucks to be you Chad!
You should have approached the scenario a little differently because your public cry baby antics have gotten you know where besides on the shit list of the most important players on the Bengals.
What an idiot, and NO I would not like him to be a Viking.
He's horrible for team chemistry, IMO.

    I concur.
From what I heard today, the Bengals aren't going to do anything!

If memory serves me right Seau actually retired (crying the entire time etc, so it seemed real) but the Pats called him very shortly after and actually convinced him he should come play for them.
