I'd like to say the Anderson field goal, but I was too young then and wouldn't have been able too really take it all in. If I had too pick something from recent years, I'd go with the Moss trade. We wouldn't have Williamson, Tice would probably still be here, as Daunte, who likely wouldn't have gotten injured, Brad Johnson wouldn't have come back...

Sure not all of these things are good, but I guarantee that we would have been at least .500 last year with that group... and our offense would actually be exciting!
While not a big fan of TICE, I believe we would've had much better seasons the last two years (possibly even Super Bowl type) had TICE, MOSS, & CULPEPPER and some others remained.
We had the "O" in place, & TICE was ready to work on the "D".

We somehow disassembled the "O" and began to fix the "D".

I guess we'll never know what could've been . . . but we can hope it all get's back into shape!

    Franchise changing?
That's a bigger question than "Gary Anderson makes that kick."

I'd have to go with Mike Lynn trading for Herschel Walker.
The ramifications of that trade affected the franchise for years afterwards.

For 2nd place, I'd go with letting Tony Dungy go while Denny Green stayed.

Immediately I thought of Gary Anderson's kick in 98, but that is one game...

That Hershel Walker trade crippled our team for a long time and helped the Cowgirls become a dynasty... I think that may be the one I'd change.

You don't screw with history. It is what it is.

Changing it could affect todays Vikings in a negative way thru a domino effect & we could still be owned by McCombs.

But if I could change one thing, I would have changed either the temperature or the medical help available the day Korey Stringer died so that he would have lived.

Changing the missed field goal, the Super Bowl losses, the Walker or Moss trade, the loss of Dungy, the early retirement of Robert Smith or the Drew Pearson Hail Mary could not take precedence over that IMO.

Korey was the soul of that offensive line.

That's actually a response i was thinking of along w/ the Herschel Walker trade...

One thing - The Hail Mary (best Vikes team ever that year IMO)

Two things - and the Anderson kick (2nd best Vikes team ever IMO)

Three things - the Herschel Walker trade

Four things - Denny vs Dungy (most people forget about that)

Five things - Les Steckel, HUH????????

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

    gotta agree with that :-[
    I second that one.

    The guy doesn't miss a field goal all year . . . until . . .
I would have to say that too, because it was extremely heartbraking for me.

Herschall Walker and Tony Dungy would be amazing turns of fate but I wasn't bleeding purple then.

Some plays I would change..............Drew Peason "Hail Mary" (push-off).
Darrin Nelson catch against the Redskins. I would have also prefered if Oscar Reed hadn't fumbled on the goal line in the Superbowl . How about if somebody tackles Steve Young. More than one, I know . It's just that there have been so many.
I was thinking of the same thing.
It was early in that Super Bowl game against the Raiders when the Raiders were going to punt.
The announcers were talking about how Ray Guy had never had a punt blocked.
Fred Mcneil busts through and blocks it.
We are first and goal on the 3 yard line.
They handed off to Brent McClanahan and he fumbles it away.
I think if we score that TD we have the momentum and win the game.
    Unfortunatley, he did fumble it.
    :'(
