I have been a fan of Paul Krause for a LONG time, and I was one of the guys who thought he belonged in the HOF way before he actually made it. If there is an NFL record that may never be broken, I think his record of 81 INT's in a career has got a shot. Anyone else have an opinion?

Whenever I see this topic heading that is what I think of. A CB/DB would have to average 9 every season for 9 years. Rod Woodson came close and look how long he played. Not many guys have the longevity to even sniff it. I hope that one stands forever.

"Autumn Thunder" by far my favorite record of the bunch.
Have you ever seen a race of turtles, and they all go the wrong way instead of towards the finish line?

The Vikings record of most points scored in a season....unless, of course, the Vikings break it again.

didn't the rams beat the vikings record w/ most points scored in a season?
"Johnson, we will keep on beating them until morale improves."

Vikes still have it. Rams came within 10 points of beating it.

Re: What NFL Record may never be broken?

Just about all of Rice's records. He's basically done what Rickey Henderson did in baseball w/ the stolen base record. He should have retired a few years ago, but he just keeps playing and adding little by little to his records.

Moss may be the only receiver with a legitimate shot at most of his records (not counting guys that have only played a couple seasons) but he'd have to stay healthy and play a full, productive 15 seasons, possibly more.

Manning may end up breaking his own TD record sometime within the next 5 years. I'd like to see Culpepper break it, and I do see him breaking the 40 mark, but I doubt he'll break Manning's record.

I think there are a few RB's that will come close to Emmitt's mark and someone will eventually break it. You've got guys like LaDainian Tomlinson, Priest Holmes, Curtis Martin, Deuce McAllister. I could see any of those guys breaking Smith's mark, assuming of course they stay healthy. Especially Martin, considering where he's at now, and the level to which he is still producing.

I'd have to agree w/ the interception record being the most unlikely to be broken. A lot of premier DB's will intercept 8 or 9 passes one season, and only 3 or 4 the next season. I think part of that is because QB's have gotten a lot better, especially at reading defenses.

Also, and this is a little off the topic, but for anyone to say the players of the past are better than the players of today is full of crap. You could say the game was more pure, and players respected it more with fewer holdouts, and contract disputes. But the fact is that players back then sometimes had different jobs in the offseason, and they didn't grow up practicing and being specifically groomed to play a certain position on the football field. You've got guys now that are bigger, faster, stronger, and have been studying the game since they learned how to read, and have been bread to play football. No disrespect to the pioneers of the game, but that's the truth.
