    What are "Compensatory Draft Picks?"

    It has been announced that "Compensatory Draft Picks" will be awarded to teams next week at the owner's meeting.
    What are they?
    Sorry to act stupid but it's a term I've heard but don't remember whast they are.

    Nice read, but I still don't get it. Althought I guess from the tone of the article I'm not suppose to.
    The compensatory picks are awarded annually by the Management Council, the league's labor arm, under an esoteric computation more difficult to crack than the formula for McDonald's secret Big Mac sauce. The formula is said to be based on salary, playing time and postseason honors and not every player gained or lost by a team in free agency is covered.
    LOL
    So I guess this is not the same thing as us getting a draft pick for Burleson from another team.

    What it sort of means is if you manage your cap and FA badly and get raided by other teams they will reward you for that by giving you extra picks in the draft. :lol:
