    WHAT???

Somebody explain this to me. It makes no sense. How in the heck can they name Clark to the pro bowl over any of the other tight ends in the NFC including Wiggins at tight end? Look at the number sClark posted ( it is in the article ). Don't they have enough paid selections already.

Clark named to Pro Bowl as NFC's 'need player'
    By Larry Mayer
    January 25, 2006

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Bears tight end Desmond Clark on Wednesday was selected to the Pro Bowl as the NFC's "need player." His inclusion gives the Bears seven Pro Bowlers, tying the Colts and Seahawks for the most in the NFL.

Desmond Clark led Bears tight ends with 24 receptions for 229 yards and 2 TDs in 2005.
Clark was initially voted as a third alternate to the Pro Bowl after catching 24 passes for 229 yards and 2 touchdowns. The seven-year veteran also possesses long-snapping ability.

While Clark is headed to Hawaii, safety Mike Brown will be unable to play in the game because of a calf injury. He was replaced by the Eagles' Brian Dawkins on Wednesday.

Two five-time Pro Bowlers, Bears middle linebacker Brian Urlacher and center Olin Kreutz, also pulled out of the game and were replaced by the Seahawks' Lofa Tatupu and Robbie Tobeck, respectively.

Urlacher, Kreutz and defensive tackle Tommie Harris were selected to start the Feb. 12 Pro Bowl in Honolulu, while Brown, cornerback Nathan Vasher and linebacker Lance Briggs were chosen to be backups.

I just checked the NFL.com site and here is the stats on the top 15 tight ends in the NFC only. Granted two of them are in the probowl and Clark was named as the third. Check out the list and tell me the other guys including Wiggins were not screwed over. Oh and Jimmy K was only two behind Clark on the list.

    Re: WHAT???

Am I mistaken or did a lot of Bears drop out of the probowl due to injury (Urlacher, Brown, Kreutz)?

    Re: WHAT???

I think that it has a lot to do with the way Wiggins physically looks. He does not look like your prototypical receiving TE, some people can't look past that and part of the reason why he does so well is teams tend to over look him because of his body.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.
