Seahawks | Holmgren officially signed to two-year extension
    Wed, 17 May 2006 17:32:05 -0700

Seahawks.com reports the Seattle Seahawks have officially signed head coach Mike Holmgren to a two-year contract extension that runs through the 2008 season. "We believe we've locked up what we think is one of the finest coaches in the National Football League, not just now but in the history of the game, and we're very fortunate," Seahawks' general manager Tim Ruskell said. "It's a great day for the organization, and especially for our fans."

 I thought this was going to be a thread about Paul McCartney.

His 4 year marriage is over.

Yeah, I can see where it was confusing. I'll try and clear it up for you.

Seahawks | More on Holmgren’s contract extension
    Thu, 18 May 2006 06:35:03 -0700

Mike Sando, of the Tacoma News Tribune, reports Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren may now be the league's highest paid head coach, after he signed his two-year contract extension. Unconfirmed reports suggest team owner Paul Allen very much wanted Holmgren to stay; the extension could pay Holmgren more than $23 million over the next three seasons, making him the highest-paid coach in the league, ESPN.com estimated. One questioned not answered was whether the new contract allows Holmgren to pursue more power in another NFL organization. Holmgren, who held the general manager title in Seattle until 2003, has said he might one day want a second chance at such a job. "My plan right now is to fulfill the contract that we signed," Holmgren said. "When you shake hands with somebody, and when you have an owner (Allen) who I spoke to this morning that has been very good to me, I think it's very much a two-way street."

I think he's one of the most overrated coaches in the NFL.

IDK dude, I think he's a pretty damn good coach. He's taken two different teams to three Super Bowls. That's pretty impressive, IMO.

I have never heard him refered to as the walrus, but damn does that fit him.

Anyway, I think he is a really good coach. I was really happy when he and Green Bay parted ways, but I don't knowif he can make the Seahawks much better than they were last year. Yeah, they went to the Super Bowl, but they had a pretty weak schedule that I think allowed them to maintain the neccessary health level for them to win in the playoffs. They play tougher AFC opponents this year, lets see what they do.
