Wade Phillips' last season?

Wade's last season?

That's the theory about Wade Phillips' future as suggested by columnist Jean-Jacques Taylor in his latest e-mail newsletter. Here are the key paragraphs...

"If at first you don't succeed, parachuting is not for you"

Re: Wade Phillips' last season?

Talk about a guy on the hot seat.

Couldn't win a playoff game with that team (how many pro-bowlers do they have again), a impatient owner who thinks he's the GM (wait, he is, isn't he, hows that working) and a fan base that beeeyyyyyyaattchs over the slightest issue.

Nope, I would rather be in the Chillers seat.
A damn good team that is on the upswing, a patient owner and a semblence of a fan base that has a clue about consistency at the HC position.

Hell, most of us believe the Chiller will be here for many years to come, regardless of how many times some yutz's try to say he will be gone after this year if things don't go right.
;D

agreed.
but if things go terribly, I wouldn't be surprised to see chilly go.
look at all our pro-bowlers/should be pro bowlers.
Even an untrained monkey could win a couple of games coaching that team.

I hear ya my friend.
Every team has Pro-bowlers......
Again, anyone know the number for the Cowgirls?

I think the last number I heard was someplace around 13 or 14.

wasn't it you who said that you put no value into being selected to the pro bowl?
Yet you are using it here as a benchmark for success.

* 5 selections: Indianapolis Colts

* 4 selections: Kansas City Chiefs, Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Steelers, Seattle Seahawks

Thanks Tasty.
I should've known to check Wiki.
;D

I wonder if the number I heard included alternate/replacement players?

Regardless, looking at that that list makes one wonder if I am correct in my feelings about talent levels and pro-bowlers.
Some damn good teams there with very few pro-bowlers and some shitty teams with alot of pro-bowlers.

Does that mean that the shitty teams are really good teams being coached by idiots/morons or does it mean the players aren't really a pro-bowl caliber talent?

Again, thanks for the info.

Re: Wade Phillips' last season?

I would think its a combination of both.
There is no way Terrence Newman and half of Dallas's O Line should have made it.
The whole reason that Tony Romo is so "exciting" to watch is because he has to run around back there, and evade linemen that his linemen failed to block.
That whole run with Marion Barber where he gained 3 yards, but trotted back and forth around the endzone breaking about 8 tackles should have never happened if there was decent blocking.

Personally I think the pro bowl is a popularity contest.
Everyone likes the Cowboys, so naturally, lots of cowboys.
Lots of bears fans, so lots of bears.
lots of colts fans, so lots of colts.

not many browns fans, so they didn't get any, but i can think of a couple who might have an argument to go there.

I agree.
I wish they would take the voting away from yutzs like me and just let the coaches vote.

Excellent post by the way.
Love the comments about the Cowgirls OL.
