Jonathan Vilma's comments yesterday about dogfighting weren't as dismissive as the recent remarks by the Redskins' Clinton Portis, a friend and former college teammate, but the Jets linebacker suffered a foot-in-mouth moment when he compared dogfighting to horse racing.

Yeah horse racing is just like dog fighting.
I always wanted to see a good horse fight at the Kenucky Derby, but I could never afford it.

Why do NFL players allways find a way to say something stupid. And then when they are called on it, trying to explain making them look even more stupid.
