Packers | Thompson brushes off V. Davis’ comments

Bob McGinn, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson brushed off San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis' comments about the team. During his press conference after being selected by the 49ers with the No. 6 overall pick, Davis said, "It's a pleasure to be here. I've always wanted to come here. I was sitting at the table yesterday and Green Bay was up and I was telling my agent, 'I hope Green Bay doesn't take me. I definitely don't want to go there. But the 49ers came around and it was just amazing knowing I was going to be a 49er." Thompson said, "We don't take any particular offense to that. People say things. If we had taken him he would have been happy coming here. But I can't speak for him."
Re: Vernon Davis loathes Packers.
HA yeah right Thompson. I am sure he would have been happy to go there if you would have picked him. He would have pulled a Eli Manning and refused to play for the pack. He would have asked to be traded.
LOL

Smart man!!! VERY smart man!!! :evil4:
Re: Vernon Davis loathes Packers.
man, we should have traded everything to get up there and take him ourselves..... he already has a deep desire to hate the Packers.... he couldn't be a bust!!!!
Re: Vernon Davis loathes Packers.
That a boy Davis. Packer basher gets nothing but love from me:)
Re: Vernon Davis loathes Packers.
He may be a packer basher but I don't think he'll be that great. Sure he has all the skills, but he is lacking one thing...a consistent offense and a QB!!!! I guess that's two things!

Re: Vernon Davis loathes Packers.
Let's be honest, where would you rather be? And remember, he's gonna have A LOT of money to enjoy when he touches down off the plane..
San Francisco; one of the most exciting, luxurious, fashionable, happening cities in the States..
or Green Bay.
No contest.
