Urlacher fined $7,500 for non-called horse-collar tackle on Chester Taylor

Urlacher feeling fine -- all $7,500 of it

Urlacher's well-being was an issue after he came out of the loss to the Minnesota Vikings with only five tackles. One of them proved costly: The league revealed Urlacher was fined $7,500 for unnecessary roughness on a tackle of Vikings running back Chester Taylor in the second quarter. Taylor went around the left side, and Urlacher used what the NFL considered a horse-collar tackle to bring him down from behind, though no flag was thrown.....

I guess I have to disagree with this call. It did look obvious at first that he horse collered him, but as they showed the replay he actually just grabbed his jersey up high near the horsecollar from behind. Non-The less, it was to close to call and I believe Urlacher knew exactly what he was doing.

I thought it was only a penalty if you grabbed the pads. I have seen that a couple of times this year, if they only got the jersey it was not flagged. I would think in the spirit of the rule you can not tackle there whether it is pads or jersey.
Why must you defend everything this FO does....to the point of making your self look like a yes man.

Yay! Woohoo!

Nice.

Bummer for you, Urlacher.
