I'm sure the only group that cares is the NFL management...and probably Gatorade.
Most of us regular Joes don't even notice things like that.
Maybe subliminaly...who knows.

Good point. Who even noticed the hat? Now, the NFL is actually HELPING out Urlachers advertising cause by drawing attention to it. Dumb shits."michaelmazid" wrote:

To tell you the truth, I've never even heard of this brand of water 'till now ... I think I'll have to try it. Thanks NFL!

Poor baby can afford the fine.
I'm sure the company will pay it for him.

Apparently, Urlacher is also some sort of investor or owner of this company.did urlacher get paid to wear the hat? If not this is a case of the NFL unfairly sensoring it's players. If he did, was it more than $100,000?
So - to sum up the economics of this -
* He probably did get some sort of $$ for wearing the hat
* The hat is shown in pictures across the globe, which brings boatloads
of free advertising time for the company of which Urlacher is an owner
* Urlacher is then fined $100,000 for wearing the hat - which ALSO gets
the name of the company (and probably some of the pictures) back
into the news again, more free advertising, etc.
I would be shocked if Urlacher even personally feels one red cent of this fine.
And I'm positive that he and the company are both cool with how this all played out.
=Z=
Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Re: Urlacher fined $100,000 for Super Bowl hat
The reason for the fine is that the NFL has agreements with it's sponsors which would be hurt by this violation.
Players are well aware of the terms of the NFL's agreement with it's sponsors because they are part of the CBA.
And they are reminded of it several times by the league in communications they recieve, if not directly stated in their contracts.
The fine should be a few dollars more than the money Adultererlacher receieved as compensation for wearing the hat.
IIRC, it's not the first time he's gotten into legal trouble for 'cheating on a partner'.
When we stop to think about it, most folks behavior isn't perplexing after all !

Re: Urlacher fined $100,000 for Super Bowl hat
This could spawn a whole new NFL players cottage industry.
An enterprising agent could line up any number of companies that could pay a player $200,000 to wear their logo and after the fine the player and agent get the extra 100,000.
They'd get away with it for a while until the NFL hiked up the fine.
