    The NFL and the NFLPA were ordered Monday to re-enter into mediated settlement discussions this week by Judge Susan Nelson, who presided over the injunction hearing in Brady et al v. National Football League et al last Wednesday.

    On Friday, in advance of Monday's order, the Brady class filed paperwork to add NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith to its counsel
    Until this jerk gets it out of his head that this isn't a partnership between the players (employees) and the owners (Employers), nothing is going to happen.

    I like what Kirwan said a few weeks ago....."I've done alot of contracts over the years, none of them said "Partnership" at the top of the document. All of them said "Employee/Employer" contract".

    Personally I see Smith more as a hinderance than help in all of this. Just hoping this order by the judge gets the ball rolling.

    Magistrate meets with players' counsel for pre-mediation talks

    MINNEAPOLIS -- The federally mediated settlement talks between the NFL and the players got underway on Tuesday morning in the chambers of Chief Magistrate Arthur Boylan, with counsel for the Brady and Eller classes meeting with Boylan.

    Judge Susan Nelson, who heard the Brady class' request for an injunction to the lift the NFL lockout last Wednesday, ordered the mediation on Monday and consolidated the cases of Brady et al v. National Football League and Eller et al v. National Football League
