Re: Ty Law to play for the Detroit Lions?

Didn't he hold alot of WR's before they came out with the new coverage rules? Thats what I heard so I hear it should go against him pretty bad

Yeah, he isn't the most athletic of CB's or the fastest, so he did like to use his hands a lot, until the officials called him for it, which never happened before the enforcement of the illegal contact rule. He'll be good, but not one of the best CB's in the league anymore, like he was before he got hurt and before they were enforcing the rules.

Did Law play in the super bowl last year or was he hurt?
He got hurt. He's still not 100%

According to Law, his foot is now 100%. I saw it on ESPN or the NFL network.

I don't think he is gonna be as good as he was in NE, but still he is a heck of a football player and I would rather see him stay in the AFC or at least not in our division. But I don't think he makes detroit that big of a threat to us. I still see GB as a bigger threat to us, as long as they have #4.
Of course his foot is 100%, he's trying to get signed .

Re: Ty Law to play for the Detroit Lions?

Law is another piece of the Lion puzzle that we DON'T want the them to have. Yeh, alone, Law is not a great pick-up. But combined with the offseason they've already had, it's not good for us.

    *Kenoy Kennedy signed
    *Fernando Bryant signed
    *Marcus Pollard signed
    *RW McQuarters signed

    *Didn't lose any key players

    *Eddie Drummond returns from injury
    *Charles Rogers returns from injury
    *Boss Baily returns from injury

*Kevin Jones started to find his "groove" toward the end of the season
*Joey Harrington has improved EVERY year, and with this team's talent, why should this year be any different?

That's all I can think of right now (I'm sure that I've missed a few things)

Laws will be a waste of cap space. Anything over a two year contract is a big waste of money, and dont think Laws wants to test the free agent market again any time soon.

Guys, I really, really hate to break this to you, but Joey Harrington is not a BAD quarterback.

    2004 Detroit Lions 16 16 489 274 56.0 3047 6.23 62 19 12 36/196 43 4 77.5

19 TDs, 12 ints, are not horrendous numbers. And he will step it up this year. The NFC North is going to be a tough, tough division.

    He's good. This is bad.

I'm fairly certain the Lions won't be offering enough though. Ty Law is going to the team that offers him the most $$$ and that's all there is to it. Unless you believe what they are saying about him wanting to go to the Jets to be able to play against the Pats twice a year.

Law is an awesome corner....but he is injury prone, and a risky investment.....
