This thread was started in relation to the legality of tackling someone by the hair. If you don't give a crap, don't post.

I watched a segment on NFL Network and they said if they hair extends out of the helmet that it is part of the uniform, hence you can grab his mop.

Maybe he could put hair extensions on there and when people go for the hair it comes off.
Put that in the trick play category.

Then you could say it was a "wardrobe malfunction".

    Re: Troy Polamalu hair tackle

On a related note, I was watching the Oregon-UCLA game yesterday, and one of the Ducks' lineman has hair down to his jiggly butt. One of the announcers commented that that ought to be illegal because it covered up the numbers on the back of his jersey. Personally, I thought that was pretty funny that they would even care, but I guess they probably have a point. Anyway, its another angle on long hair. Regardless, how someone wants to wear their hair is their business, and as far as I'm concerned, it makes the game more entertaining.
As to some of the people on this thread complaining, it kind of reminds me of that old
Simpsons epsiode where Abe Simpson is complaining about Joe Namath's lengthy locks, and then says (I know I'm screwing up the quote here) something like, "Bart Starr, now there's a haircut you could set you watch to!"
In other words, get over it ya old codgers!

It may have started with "the legality of tackling someone by the hair", but it ended up with you calling the guys hair "freakish".

If you want to turn this into a pisssing contest, go ahead.
