Couldn't find an NFL.com link, I guess it wasn't as important as the third string QB swap.
Apparently the Bucs may not have enough confidence in Simms now that Griese is done for the season. I like Rattay. Even if it isn't about having confidence in Simms, they are contenders and it was a good move to have a backup incase Simms goes down.
AJ Feely???? Are they going to get rid of Brees or Rivers.
I heard some saying that they may deal Rivers???
If they make the palyoffs again with Brees, how can you get rid of him. He has command of the team.

I guess you could have a Tom Brady situation, but I would see the fans revolting at first.
I think the Dolphins got a pretty decent QB in Cleo Lemon. I have only seen him in the preseason and he looked pretty impressive.
The poor Jets, I bet they wish that they had the money to go after a Rattay, they don't and can't.
The salary cap is probably why we don't see very many trades at the deadline.
Only a few teams had the need and the luxury to be able to do it.

I just heard the Bucs say that Rattay is the 3rd string QB. I don't think that is the intention, I wouldn't be surprised if he is listed as the 2nd QB next week and after that, who knows. It all depends on how Simms plays in the next 2 weeks.
lemon can dang throw that ball far, and he can move around. he may be a starter in miami in due time.

Most scouts right now say that Rivers will be an absolute stud at QB wherever he is next season, and most think that if he takes the reigns in SD with Gates, LT and him around for years to come they could be the next Pats.
Just stuff I have heard from a reliable source on the grapevine. Bottom line, both of these guys will be starting in the NFL next season.

I just don't know how you throw "the Rivers Wrench" into a perfectly running machine.
the chargers trade also means that rivers is gone in the offseason. now they have an experinced backup at 3rd string that should be a 2nd string. i dont think they want aj is just hold a clipboard for the rest of his career, and i dont think aj would want that either.
they cant get rid of brees the way he is playing. he is doing a great job with this chargers team who i still dont believe is that good.
trading rivers for a draft pick where they can draft a good safety or anything to help their secondary would be helpful to the team. right now rivers has no value to the team as he is just sitting on the bench doing nothing.
