I love Holt, but hee's starting the wear down decline already, nevermind, didn't know he was 31 already.
If you want contract info for most players in nfl, mlb go to www.rotoworld.com

    Contract Information for Torry Holt

    7/18/2003: Signed a seven-year, $42 million contract. The deal included an $11.5 million signing bonus. 2007: $4,150,000, 2008: $5,650,000, 2009: $6,650,000, 2010: Free Agent

i wouldnt say hes declining, look at how often marc bulger was in and out of the lineup the last couple years and ul see why his numbers dropped a bit..also scott linehan has totally flopped as a coach there with his terrible decision making, and very bad luck in terms of injuries (notably orlando pace, who in reality the offense really revolves around his health)..but yah, unless we got him now, by the time he hits FA, he probably will actually start to decline
They started 13 different offensive linemen this year. Only one of them started all 16 games this season, Alex Barron.

They're entire offense was horrendous this season, with the line in shambles there is no way you can judge a Ram by their statistics. IMO Torry Holt it is a top 5 receiver in the NFL, maybe top 3.

    I agree totally

Not to mention 80 percent of the people here thought Randy Moss was declining

I don't mean to bring his name up.. But putting someone in the right situation makes wonders
I was going to bring that up too.

Plus I don't remember Holt ever having any kind of significant injury. I don't think he has any major wear on his tires. I don't think he'll be on any kind of major decline by the time he's a FA... 2010. I mean he might not be the top 3 WR he is today. It'll be interesting to see what our WR needs are come 2010.
And top 3 WR today? C'mon ... seriously? T.O., Randy Moss, Larry Fitzgerald, Chad Johnson and Braylon Edwards are all better than Torry Holt. He is still probably (PROBABLY) a top ten guy ... and is definitely one of the better 20 or 25 receivers to EVER play the game ... but he is not top 3 today.

Maybe our scouts should go cryo-chamber hunting to try to find our next top guy.

Is there any reason we are talking about this guy?

Uh, because this is a football forum... and I asked a question. Two years isn't really that long my man. It's just as likely we sign Torry as any other player out there.
Yep it is a football forum. So I guess while we are at it we should throw every other free agent in the next two years into the conversation!
    :
There is no logical reason right now to discuss Torry Holt being a Viking. If you want to discuss how good the guys career is ... fine, whatever ... but discussing players who might or might not be free agents in two years begs the question why? Are there not plenty of things to talk about now?
I mean I guess it makes perfect sense for the Vikes' staff to say ... "Hey, I know we are struggling at WR, but if we can make it TWO more years, we can get a 33-year-old Torry Holt! floop yeah!"
Good lord man, calm your funky butt down already! I just asked a question (what's his contract) and thought it would be interesting to see if we'd give him a look if we're still struggling at WR. I'm not seeing the crime here buddy.

    Your logic is definitely solid.

    What are you talking about?

Branch lit it up this year... overshadowed only by the production of Ashley Lelie, who so many also wanted.

I was about to start blasting you with stats and such - until I realized you were being sarcastic.

Gotta get up pretty early in the AM to pull the wool over 'ol Zeus's eyes!
