I'm not sure about that one....I think he might have just been a victim of a bad system.
Do you mean two bad systems?
I think coaching early on in a players career can really affect the rest of his career. I don't think he was brought along right possibly. I'm not saying that all busts are a result of coaching, but I think some are.
Yeah, I could agree with that.
Who knows, maybe if a team like Indy would have drafted him, he would have become a 4 time probowler or something.
Some guys on the other hand, *cough *cough Akili Smith - clearly were not cut for the NFL.

I'd add basically any QB that Jeff Tedford has ever coached at the college level.

That being said, why he hasn't been offered an NFL Offensive Co-Ordinator or QB coach position I'll never know.

Here's one of my favorite draft faux pas'; the Packers Sherman traded up into the 3rd round for .....

Anyone have any other favorite draft faux pas, of the Packers, Da Bearrrsss, Lyins or other teams ?

When we stop to think about it, most folks behavior isn't perplexing after all !

Mostly QB's I see. They tend to carry the most weight when talking busts.

I expected to see Dimitrius Underwood's name in there.

    I agree, 1st round disaster.
Never even made it to TC, or was it 1 day.
I wonder how many uninjured 1st rounders never played a down (preseason) in the NFL?

Underwood did play. He was picked up by the Dolphins but was cut after 1 pre-season game. He later signed a two year contract & played for the Cowboys in 2000 & 2001.

He had 21 tackles and 4 sacks in 19 games.

Singer, thanks for pointing out the confusion... but as the topic was Draft Busts, I assumed it was only referring to the team that drafted him.

I guess I should have been clearer in my statement "I wonder how many uninjured 1st rounders never played a down (preseason) in the NFL?" by adding "for the team that drafted him".

If TWill goes to the Pro Bowl with the Jags, I would still consider him a draft bust for the Vikes.
I'll try to be clearer in the future

Doesn't matter if he played for the Cowboys for two years or not, he was still a bust & a head case, so we are correct in our assesment.

As far as players who went uninjured & never played in a preseason game by the team that drafted them, that might be a tough one to dig up without doing a lot of research.

Aren't the first cuts typically done after the first preseason game? I don't recall the cut dates.
