Top 50 players: In with the new, out with some of the old

The NFL can sometimes be cruel to veteran players, even former stars......
18. Kevin Williams, DT, Minnesota Vikings: Playing next to Pat Williams, he's a big reason why the Vikings led the NFL in run defense.
35. Steve Hutchinson, G, Minnesota Vikings: Some scouts say he didn't play as well with the Vikings as he did with Seattle, but he remains among the top at his position.

that is a fun list to look at and nice praise for Kevin Williams, but seriously ... Andre Johnson at 14? Ahead of Marvin Harrison and Steve Smith? That is lunacy.

No Pat Williams? i would have put him instead of tommie harris but what really ticked me off was that antoine winfield didnt even make the "almost" list

What I think is funny is Shaun Alexander (MVP just 1 year ago) doesn't make the list, but Kerry Rhodes made it and so did Ty Warren. Pffft. I don't think Shaun is the best player, which some have made him seem, but I think he's definitely worthy of top 50.
I think Rhodes is a fine player, but over Palamalu?

Hey I love Antione as much as the next guy (even wear his jersey on Sundays), but he is not a top 50 player ... Whether he should have or not, Winfield has not played in a single pro bowl (I believe there are 18 current or former Pro Bowl corners in the NFL). Count the up-and-comer corners across the league and he probably just does not belong.
Winfield's old teammate Clements has a lot more of a gripe for not being on this list ... and Shaun Alexander not on the list while Tommie F'ing Harris, Ty Warren and Jonathan Ogden are is kind of funny ... maybe we should post a thread where we determine the PP.O top 50 and see what this site thinks.

there is too many problems with this list to even name them.
