It's been a long wait, but football is back. The NFL staged an exhibition Sunday in Canton and cranks up with a full schedule this weekend.
With that in mind, here are five things to look for during the NFL's 64-game preseason slate, which begins tonight:
1 High-profile quarterbacks Carson Palmer (Bengals), Daunte Culpepper (Dolphins) and Ben Roethlisberger (Steelers) are on the mend from injuries. Palmer likely won't play until Game 3 when Green Bay visits Paul Brown Stadium on Aug. 28 (8 p.m., ESPN).
2 Browns second-year quarterback Charlie Frye is gaining his teammates' trust, but he needs a center because LeCharles Bentley is out for the year and Bob Hallen left the club. Center Alonzo Ephraim is due to start at Philadelphia tonight, but Ross Tucker could win the job.
3 Today's nationally televised game  Indianapolis at St. Louis, FOX, 8 p.m.  features dome teams known for high-powered offense. New Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri's 48-yard field goal lifted New England over the Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI.
4 Fantasy becomes reality when New Orleans plays at Tennessee
(8 p.m. Saturday). Saints tailback Reggie Bush (Southern California) squares off against Titans QB Vince Young (Texas) in a Rose Bowl rematch.
5 Monday Night Football  Oakland at Minnesota, ESPN, 8 p.m.  is finally here. Metrodome fans will see a familiar face when Raiders wide receiver Randy Moss makes his debut against his former team. The Vikings will also introduce new uniforms.

#4 should be fun. But the one that catches my eye...Vikings/Raiders, now that is news worthy.

#7 (For the Packer fans) The first 4 pre-season loses won't count against the Packers regular season record.
