If things go right and BF's being under center gets the 8th man out of the box, AD will be ranked #1 next year.
2106 yds, baby!

Re: Top 5: Best players in the NFL regardless of position
Not a bad list at all...it can go so many ways.
Mine wouldn't be too different from his:
1. Peyton Manning
2. Tom Brady
3. Adrian Peterson
4. Randy Moss
5. Steve Hutchinson
I had Ware at #5 but decided at the last second Hutch has been too good for too longSkol Vikings! Go Cubs!

I love hutch but I don't think a Guard can really be a top 5 player in the NFL. It's an important position, just not quite what people think of as an "impact position" like QB, RB, WR, DE, etc.Not a bad list at all...it can go so many ways.

I hear ya there..I guess it's all how a person interprets the question. I asked myself "Is Steve Hutchinson a better guard than DeMarcus Ware is a linebacker?". Tough comparison but I decided on yes"Tad7" wrote:

Re: Top 5: Best players in the NFL regardless of position
To tell you the truth, I didn't like the list of Jamie Dukes' top 5 current NFL players.
Jamie Dukes' list:
5. Andre Johnson/Larry Fitzgerald
4. DeMarcus Ware
3. Adrian Peterson
2. Peyton Manning
1. Tom Brady
There is a whole lot of things I would change with that list. Most importantly, there are NO defensive players on the list.
Here's my list:
(Honourable mentions: Randy Moss & DeMarcus Ware)
5.
Steve Hutchinson (the guard who consistantly performs to perfection)
4.
Ed Reed (would have been higher if he was a little better in the running game, but he's always healthy and has been the biggest playmaker at safety for many years)
3.
Tom Brady (a little overrated in my opinion, has a very good offense which has helped him)
2.
Adrian Peterson (there is no other runningback as good as him. He is miles ahead of the others)
1.
Peyton Manning (Better than Tom Brady. Peyton has better deep ball accuracy, arm strength, awareness, and leadership)
