One thing that works for one team, might not work for another. It is all about chemistry. It didn't take long for Favre to get on page with his WRs like some people thought. Some other people might take longer.

Have to also remember that all of these include bonuses as well ... which is why Berrian and Allen are so high on the list.

The deadskins aren't on the list because they are in cap hell. When they sign big players they have to push as much of the cap numbers into later years, insuring they stay in cap hell for years to come. The Vikings have the opposite approach and have front loaded contracts so they will have cap space down the road. Jared Allen now has 5 years and about 51 million left on his contract, an average of only 10.2million a year(though I couldn't find the exact break down).

Also remember the Vikings had a lot of cap space to burn this year... it was good to front load contracts to make the cap easier to manage in the out years.

When I did some research on CAP for the teams, two sites listed them at $0 dollars available.
Thats why I found it suprising that they didn't have a bigger presence at the top of the list.

Regardless, gonna be a ugly year for the Deadskin fans as they basically have to gut that team to get any sort of CAP relief........

Re: Top 25 NFL salaries of 2008

This list is a prime example of why we are generally doing so well cap-wise...

Rob B loves to front load those contracts, and as somebody else previously pointed out, that inclulded signing bonuses, etc.
Anybody on that list who just signed a contract is going to have an inflated number based on that alone...

I am quite shocked at a few of the others on there being so high (Ben R., Jamarcus R., etc.)...

    Trust me, I'm a doctor.
