How in the hell is that.. In Rodgers first year at the helm he produced better stats than Cutler has ever obtained.

While I will not argue that Rodgers belongs on the top 10 list, because he has only done it one year, putting a over-rated Cutler on the list is a mistake.

He just simply isn't worth of being mentioned in the top 10 players of this division period, whether you feel he is better than the rest of the QB's in the north or not.

Of course that is just my opinion.
This is pretty arguable though. He had a rushing game that, at most parts of the season, was worse than ours. Given, he did have some great WRs, but so did we.

Nothing to take Rodgers performance down (You know just as much as I do that I love the guy), but Cutler is up there aswell.

I prefer QBs who are efficient, better statistically and not total asswhipes, but you can make a point about Cutler carrying his team in the 4th quarter and throwing for 500 more yards.

Re: The Top 10 Players in the NFC North

    Aaron Rodgers
    Aaron Kampman
    Greg Jennings
    Charles Woodson
    Calvin Johnson
    Julian Peterson
    Lance Briggs
    Adrian Peterson
    Jared Allen
    Steve Hutchinson

Way too hard to make a top 10

Wanted to throw in EJ instead of Julian Peterson.. But it depends if you want just tackles like EJ does.. Julian tackles and pass rushes very well

Wanted to throw in Antoine Winfield as well but I couldnt take him out for Charles Woodson.. Woodson mans up way better then Winny and is a ball hawk.. Winny is not far behind IMO

Wanted to throw in quite a few others like Nick Collins as well.. But wasn't sure where to put these guys

I can't put in Hester when he doesn't even do punt or kick returns anymore I can't remember, and when he is just an average WR at this point

I hope it isn't coming off that I think Cutler sucks, that isn't the point..

But I could easily list off 10 players I would take before Cutler in the NFCN if I was building a team from scratch.

You make some valid points, but again I don't think he belongs in the top 10 just as I don't think Rodgers at this very point does either.

But then again.. I believe in building a team from the inside out.. so I am probably biased.

I disagree with the part about Peterson(Julian obviously) he's only had 10 sacks once, and never topped 100 tackles. IMO he's very well rounded, but has been one of the most overrated players in the league his entire career. Statistically EJ puts up tackle numbers and not much of else, but that doesn't mean he has no impact in the passing game. The MLB in the cover 2 is extremely important, and I think he's really stepped his game up in that regard.

I also think comparing Packer CBs and Winfield is apples to oranges due to the system they play in. I think if you were to break down Winfield and Woodson with some kind of overall point system, they'd match up very well, but excel in different categories.

Yah EJ is getting better in coverage.. Julian Peterson kinda sucks in coverage as well.. If I had to pick a LB to build my D around it would be EJ.. But talent wise I gotta go Julian.. He is semi overrated.. But still damn good.. Had EJ played this year and kept going at the pace he was going at I probably would have put him ahead of Julian

And I agree about the corners.. Winny and Woodson are top 2.. I would give Woodson just a SLIGHT advantage.. Can't go wrong with either tho

    1. Adrian Peterson, Vikings
    2. Calvin Johnson, Lions
    3. Jared Allen, Vikings
    4. Orlando Pace, Bears
    5. Steve Hutchinson, Vikings
    6. Kevin Williams, Vikings
    7. Charles Woodson, Packers
    8. Jay Cutler, Bears
    9. Antoine Winfield, Vikings
    10. Julian Peterson, Lions
Wow ... clearly looks like a Vikes fan to me ... Also ... really? Charles Woodson? Really? Matt Forte not on this list makes the list a TOTAL frickin joke ... Totally lazy list by including "names" like Woodson, Pace and Peterson and leaving off someone like Forte. Hell, Peterson is not even the best LB on his team (Ernie Sims), but here we go with a better list I think:

    1. Adrian Peterson, Vikings
    2. Jared Allen, Vikings
    3. Calvin Johnson, Lions
    4. Matt Forte, Bears
    5. Steve Hutchinson, Vikings
    6. Kevin Williams, Vikings
    7. Jay Cutler, Bears
    8. Lance Briggs, Bears
    9. Aaron Rodgers, Packers
    10. Nick Collins, Packers

Re: The Top 10 Players in the NFC North

How is it that Allen is so much better than Kampman?

The last three years is basically a wash at Sacks and advantage to Kampman in terms of tackles in general.

Then watching them play, I just don't see a huge advantage in either direction.... so tell me, on the field how Allen is far superior to Kampman?

He has a pretty cool haircut.

But short term memory, maybe? Allen had the advantage of a very good D-line last year, while our D-line was one of the worst in the league. Kampman contributed half of the teams sacks. Very good question though.
