Re: Time to settle this: Who's the best DT?

There seems to be a large dispute over which defensive tackle is the best in the NFL today. Many people argue that Titans' Albert Haynesworth is the best, others say Bears' Tommie Harris is. Many people also claim that Vikings' Kevin Williams is the best, however, some say that Kevin is not even the best DT on his team. To me, these people together make up the cream of the top, but who gets the nob?

What do the members of PurlpePride.org think of this query?
Pick either one named Williams in Minny--but for my money, Kevin is the better pass rusher!
I live in Pats country--Wilfork does not belong in the conversation.

I dont think Pat belongs on this list

I dont think Wilfork belongs on this list

I dont think Henderson belongs on this list

All very good... But not close to being the top

Pat has disapointed me this year

What list are you talking about? Do you mean the options for the poll? That's just there so people will have an handful of options to choose from. I know that if I didn't put e.g. Marcus Stroud as an option, then someone would complain and say something like: "WTF! Why is not Jamal on the list?".

As I said in the first post; Haynesworth, Tommie Harris, and both the Vikings' DTs are the cream of the top IMO.

It's hard to really say who is the best.
This is what my 12 year old and his friends do.

You have to look at who is best at what.
Like run stopping or pass rush and break it down that way.

Clearly Albert Haynesworth, call me 08-09 Defensive Player of the Year.
In the P.J.'s, my blend tape plays, bullets are strays
    Young bitches is grazed
Each block, is like a maze, full of black rats trapped
    Plus the Island is packed
From what I hear in all the stories when my peoples come back, black

V4L, take a look at this picture COJO posted on the **OFFICIAL** Titans/Vikes Tailgate Thread.
The ball has just been snapped, and the first one to engage is Pat.
Kevin is just starting to engage and Allen hasn't even moved yet.
E.J. is moving into the gap and Leber is moving forward.
You will also notice that Pat is fighting off a double block and Kevin has the best shot at Collins.
Looks like a good argument for both the Williams boys to me.

Re: Time to settle this: Who's the best DT?

I would have voted Haynesworth before yesterday and he did nothing to deter me. I love Pat and Kevin. Think they both fit into the top5 or 6 somewhere (Harris is great as well). But Haynesworth just dominates games from a position where it is fairly tough to do so.
That guy is a total stud.

    Thats Fred Evens not Pat

And it doesn't matter if you are gettin a good jump if you aren't doin anything with it

He is rarely getting into the backfield and when he does stop the run its not behind the line but he is still doing a pretty good job at it
