Yup...just like we all thought Tice was not that good.

was a stud though. I think we either lead the league or came in second for INT the year he was the D coach.

Re: Tice could have used Goodell's muscle in '05

I'va always said that Tice got a bad deal.
He got saddled with an owner who wouldn't pony up the cash for good coaches or good defensive players.
Once the Green-Built Offense started to crumble, the writing was on the wall...

And I've also stated repeatedly that the vast majority of Viking related "Issues" are overblown media muck-raking.
Randy was villified for minor issues, Tice was hammered for the Love Boat non-issue, and so on.
Meanwhile, other teams acn have players kill people, have "relations" with minors, quit football for drugs, or kill dogs and the media outrage is next to nothing.
    But if a Viking j-walks.....

I think that givien the opportunity that Childress has, Tice would have been a much better HC than he was allowed to be.
    But, that's just my opinion.

Yeah, and other professionals around the league also agree with you.
That's why he didn't get a chance at another HC job and was demoted after only one year with the Jags.

Also, the author made a comparison of records of Tice's last year versus Chilly's first year as HC.
Tice was on the coaching staff for years then given the reigns and implemented Denny's offensive scheme.
He finished his whole tenure <0.500.
Chilly is implementing a different system.
    Not even comparable.
I'll give Tice credit where it's due....he did his best when given the opportunity.
It was not good enough, he was in way over his head.

Speak only for yourself. There are some of us here that believe Tice got a raw deal.
