The NFL Network even makes it easy for you to complain to your local cable company.

the nfl network is carrying more games however.

i was just reading on iwantnflnetwork.com, is it just the cable companies keeping nfl network from being free? cause i get it free with my satellite.
Yeah I used to have satellite and I also got the NFL network for free.
Only back then they weren't broadcasting any games.
It was still a really cool channel though, I watched it all the time.
The only problem I have right now is that I am in college and live in an apartment complex, I don't know if I have the ability to pay for the extra channel.
I guess I'd have to look into it but I still don't think it was necessary to take the thursday night games away from the general audience.
If you are in college, keep the 5 in the pocket and take it to the bar to buy a beverage and watch.
If you are underage, put that 5 in a piggy bank and save, then you can have twice as much fun watching the game at the bar at age 21.
    LOL

I understand where you are coming from, it is an incinvience if you don't have the NFLN.
    But there are options.

i dont see why people get upset with nfl network carrying games on thursday.

its an extra game a week. now, lets say nfl network didnt have the games, you wouldnt see them anyway since balt vs cincy would be on sunday and your local area doesnt have that anyway.

and if you live in the local area, you can watch the game on your local tv. and if you dont live in the local area, but you still want to watch it, its either on nfl network or go to a bar.
It's a covert attempt to keep the whining within NFL circles.
Or it gives you an excuse to go to the bar, drink & watch football. Another man's night out!

??? WTF are you talking about? You don't have $5? You can pick up the channel for the month of December when the Thursday night games are played, then cancel it for January. You don't need to subscribe to it for the full year.

When the Vikes played on the road & it wasn't televised in my local area, I would call up DISH network on Sunday morning & ask what channel the Vikings game was on. Then I would purchase the channel that was broadcasting it for $1.50 for the month & then cancel it. It worked for a long time until FOX didn't allow you acess to the FOX channels except in your local area.

Now ABC & CBS are doing the same thing.

But the NFL Network is still free with my basic subscription.

It was on NFL Network. Which is about 5.00 a month more on my cable bill. I actually enjoy it.

That's great if your local cable company offers it, but ours doesn't and I live in Eden Prairie the home of the Viking's!
All that is on my cable is ESPN and NFL Total Access.
So I guess I am out of luck for NFL Network.

    :-\
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe NFL Total Acess is just a program on the NFL Network channel & not a network channel in itself.

I believe you're good to go.

Hahaha it's as if you could read my mind.
I'm not quite 21 yet but as soon as I am every sunday will be spent in the bar watching any games I want.

    In the US, you can't.
Municipalities - whether on the county or city/town level choose a single provider to cover their jurisidiction.
I, for example, live in Dakota County, MN, which has Charter as a cable provider.
If I don't want to have Charter, then I need to get a dish or an antenna.
Charter, unfortunately, does not carry the NFL Network.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!
