    Thanksgiving tradition to continue

    KFFL
Lions | Thanksgiving tradition to continue
    Fri, 26 Jan 2007 10:11:00 -0800

Updating a previous report, Tom Kowalski, of Mlive.com, reports the Detroit Lions will continue their tradition of playing the leadoff Thanksgiving Day game despite speculation the league and it's owners would prefer a more appealing team in that time slot. The issue is not being discussed in league meetings and is not on the agenda to be discussed in future meetings.

It should be a rotating schedule not just Detroit and Dallas every year as the home teams.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

In the past I argued for tradition and then the Cowgirls were thrown into the mix.
Now I say screw tradition when it comes to Thanksgiving Day games.
They shoud be thrown into the flex-scheduling too so we can watch decent games while we're avoiding relatives.

How did the Lions get picked to play on Thanksgiving in the first place?

I'm cool with it. As long as there is football to watch on Thanksgiving.

The lions should be the afternoon game so everybody can sleep through it after eating all the turkey.

    I agree.

The only game that Detroit decides to show up to is the Thanksgiving game and they still find ways to lose.

When will the NFL pull out of Detroit and leave us alone?

i looked on wiki and found no other info about the history.. but it is worth noting..

the vikes do have the best record on thanksgiving day of teams that have played more than 5 times

we're 5-1 all time turkey day games
i m better than you, so just give up...
