    But seriously, Goodell seems to be siding with the owners. And doesn't trust the NFLPA.

    Goodell is hired and paid by the owners as their commissioner, he is ownership spokesperson/management and the NFLPA head is Smith. Goodell is a part of the ownership group like a chairman.
